Pikec1 (Grega) has already described everything nicely. For me too, the road from Mihov dom onwards was too icy, but on foot it drags on and on. But I went up the beginners' route (it's nicely all iced up), down the classic past Grebenc. Oh, Pikec1, you were really early, I started just before seven.

On Sunday my girl and I also did the same route as the cyclist - up the training gully then the classic. Most of the training gully is in shade, so icy and nice to climb, problem only just below the ledge seen in cyclist's fourth pic, where it sinks to balls sometimes, no place to stick ice axe to pull up the hill and it's pretty dangerous. We started at seven from the viewpoint. You can go another km by car, but no parking then (unless leave it on road).

Today, Janez and I did the ascent from Vršič to Little Mojstrovka. You can't believe how much snow the sun takes away in a week. Conditions for hiking were very good, track or steps very good on the avalanche deposit, top of Grebenca all dry and the ridge of Little Mojstrovka and summit practically dry. Snow just right crusty for carefree fast skiing to the treeline and then also from Grebenca to Vršič. LP Andrej

Skrajnik, in my opinion all the ledges are still in snow...

The upper part of Hanzova path will be under snow for at least another month.

Before 7am there were at least 20 cars parked at Vršič (parkingboy was still sleeping). Mostly ski tourers headed towards Grebenc. The mountain goat had the goal to climb up Pripravniška grapa to M. Mojstrovka (on foot), and she succeeded.

At seven in the morning on Vršič there was no living soul, besides our car just one more. We headed straight up the snowfield. The snow was wet but still excellent for walking even without crampons. At the top of Grebenca it was bare and so further to the summit of Little Mojstrovka. In between we needed to cross small snowfields at some spots, no problem. Below the summit we catch up with a ski tourer - that morning we were the only visitors of Mojstrovka. But we witnessed a huge snow slab avalanche from the summit of Big Mojstrovka - sadly I couldn't document that moment live. Despite good conditions, descending from Grebenca down requires caution due to slipperiness. LP

I'm curious what snow conditions are on southern route to Little Mojstrovka? Possible without winter gear or not?

Given that mountains cooled and froze, need to take winter gear (ice axe, crampons).

I'm wondering if anyone has been to Mojstrovka recently. Is there still a lot of snow? Probably can't go via Hanzova yet.
