In the next few days I plan to head to Mala Mojstrovka, so I'm curious about the current conditions, especially for the south route... Regards

In the ridges there's some snow, but no panic; further towards the summit it's all clear.

What about Hanzova? Is it safe already?

In the upper part of Hanzova path there are still some snow patches, crampons and ice axe needed.

This time ascent to Mojstrovka, start from Vršič, path practically dry all the way except below summit, no major issues crossing snow there (snow from previous days). Relatively cold, windy, the rest the pictures speak. Views quite solid, definitely worth ascending this beauty.

Ajdovska girl is the name of this fris, under it the path leads through the front Prisojnik window. lp

Šerpa, I hope this one with "fris" is just a joke, because if not, I envy you the feeling when you actually spotted the girl (rock'n roll).

The Ajdovska girl is a tale about the roots of Slovenianhood and life under Prisankom back then. In old times men walked across snowy Vršič to Trenta valley. Because bora winds blew hard and snow piled into drifts, the Ajdovska girl who lived under the wall always came to meet them and helped on the right path. As a guide she was also a prophetess, so one day she went to Trentarska wife to prophesy to the just born child that when grown he will become Hunter, shoot white chamois, sell golden horns and become rich. When Ajdovske sisters learned about it they got very angry and as punishment turned Ajdovska girl into stone, where she still today stares amazed into Trenta valley.

And that child was the Trentarski hunter whom we find in the Zlatorog story... only, the prophecy didn't end as the Ajdovska girl predicted. Viharnik, thanks for all the nice mountain trip reports... they are very useful, as are those from Triglavski... All the best

Lepenatka, mutual thanks. Others also visit nice spots, but they only say they were up and went back to the valley. For important info on path condition, key ascent points, mountain features, exposure, walking times, the info is often skimpy.

In the next days we plan to climb Mala Mojstrovka (if possible via Hanzova path) and I am interested in snow conditions, how much new snow, old... If crampons and ice axe are still needed or if it is possible without... Regards

In the hut in Tamar they say that the entry to the wall is also still difficult due to snow. lp

Oops, yeah, really, I mixed up the date a bit... don't know why I thought 17.6. was already a month ago

Today - through the notch: goal both Mojstrovkas, but noticed that on the path to the 'big one' there's still some snow and not trodden, obviously without crampons decision off. Little one therefore quite O.K. Weather changeable cloudy, on return from Vršič already raining. Met also group of deathly scared ladies who decided to turn back somewhere above half path. Obviously none knew what they were getting into or had any experience. Luckily turned out fine. From the latrine an international army was returning. LP Heinz!

Heinz - on the third (and also fourth) picture there is no "Mangart with neighbors". But it is on the first shot right in the cloud.

Thanks! I know it was a mistake. My friend confused me, with whom we headed to Mojstrovka. I myself immediately thought that this wouldn't be Mangart, after getting home I confirmed it on the map. From the top of Mojstrovka it was too foggy and cloudy in the direction of Jalovec and Mangart to figure out the latter. Lp!

Nice greeting We were on Mojstrovka yesterday. No problems on the normal path over Grebenc. Today we also met our army when we had a running day. Run from Kranjska Gora to Vršič and then to Trenta and back. Tiring but wonderful views.
