Mala Mojstrovka - Hanz Path

Today, one of the nicer days in this capricious summer, we used for a visit to M. Mojstrovka. We were early, so we could observe how the northern walls of the Mojstrovkas turned golden in the morning sun. On the path there is practically no snow anymore, a few steps on snow are needed only before entry to Hanz's path.

Well, I nicely photographed you at the end! Good luck and maybe we'll meet somewhere again

Does anyone know the state on Mojstrovka - where snow starts and how much?

Newly fallen snow has probably already melted, the path is snow-free (bypassing a small snow patch before the start of the very difficult path).

Yesterday on MM there was no crowd. We have a torn cable in the upper half of the path - for the markers' info.

On Sunday 12.10 on Mala Mojstrovka (Hanzova). Park at Lake Jasna (KG) and cycle up to Vršič, leave the bike there and continue on Hanzova to Mala Mojstrovka. Descend via normal route to Vršič, onto the bike and gas to the car Wonderful Sunday morning! On the link below 4 min video from the wonderful tour, LP Blaž

Thanks Domch. Bike tour is really a good combo, especially if you save a good descent for the end

Today my colleague and I tackled Mala Mojstrovka via Hanzova path. The tour was planned last year already, but nothing came of it. Shame there were no views, as the whole secured path and summit were wrapped in thick fog. No views unfortunately, will have to repeat. Cables were wet from night or yesterday's rain. Rock was fairly dry though, no slipping. Of course we had all safety gear-good shoes, climbing gloves, helmet and harness. Gloves are essential for cold and wet cables. Harness is necessary for safe progress in such conditions, helmet is a given. First time on secured Hanzova path, been on the normal one before. I really liked the path, I think I haven't climbed such a demanding one here before. Also for return via normal path over scree need to be careful, as in fog you easily miss the right direction.

velkavrh, even in fog Hanzova has its charm. When you go in good weather you'll see where you climbed and be glad. For me one of the nicest short tours, but one you should never underestimate. As for the scree fields, I tell you I surely missed the way the third time every time, and they had a laugh watching me from the hut as I fight through the pines

Today with kids via Hanzova to Mojstrovka. a while ago visited Slemenova špica and they immediately said they'd rather climb, so we went. Quite some visitors from both sides, protections on path OK, rock dry and weather good too. At summit snack and rest then down. On the last scree we also missed a bit, so climbed through scrub, but no problem as the path is already well trodden. The little ones were thrilled by 12 we were already drinking cold coke.

I'm interested in something: how much time did you spend on the ascent via the Hanz trail and assuming descent over the ridge? I'm interested in the timing, because I'm going up on Saturday to make an approximate plan, thanks

Up took a good two hours, down an hour and a half. If you like scree, you can shorten the descent directly across one, otherwise the path isn't long. Nice tour, above all not long. And a bit before seven it still wasn't full parked, when we came down there was a crazy crowd. P.S. - I'm not exactly among the racers, I enjoy the views and rest midway too

With friends on Tuesday we were on Mojstrovka. Up via Hanz and I think the whole thing took an hour and a half. We're fairly sporty and active but didn't race, views wonderful, took lots of photos. Since the path seemed too short we also went to Velika and Zadnja Mojstrovka via unmarked paths and partly pathless terrain. Even better views. Back down pathless and traversed under the Mojstrovkas to the marked path and then scree to Vršič. Can describe it in one word: Awesome!
