I know it has nothing to do with it, but anyway: not long ago you couldn't distinguish ferrata from alpinism, for you it was the same, then you constantly whined about gear, how you don't have it, how this that... expensive, etc... now you've made a huge jump from "pre-alpine hiker" to beginner alpine mountaineer (so not to be misunderstood, respect, really good, incredible progress, all my respect), now you want to jump into the world of alpinism in two years... I'm speechless, you're the first to succeed in leaving me speechless

Yesterday at Mangart saddle, second time to the top, since we forgot one helmet at home, so we didn't go. Otherwise the weather, the kind people call it like on God's path

If you went up the Slovenian side, small rocks would whiz past you that hikers higher up trigger. Helmet is mandatory equipment, most prefer the normal easier path from the Italian side, when you reach the saddle keep more to the left, higher up follow the trodden-marked path, it's pretty hard to miss the marked path.

Sadly I notice quite a low level of tolerance on the forum, seems a shame to waste time on mutual quarrels and poking each other, right? Let's spend energy in positive sense instead, the one that really delights us, which are hills, mountains, hillocks and other elevations.

Since this fall isn't skimping on good weather, the whole family decided today to visit the Mangart summit. We started from the saddle, me and the older son via the Slovenian route, wife with daughter and younger son via the easier Italian route. Met at the top super happy with the new success.
Up about half take the easier path, the rest the harder, down mostly all the easier.
Hats off to those from Belopeška Lakes via Via Italiana, the view from above takes the breath away. Maybe that one sometime.

Via Italiana is a ferrata, we don't have those here. I climbed it last time from Belopeška Lakes. If you want to do it once and only have easy paths behind you, it's still a long way to the top. Otherwise great weather, far visibility around and worth the Mangart visit this time, often foggy/cloudy.

Today it happened that we had to go to Mangart. With a colleague we started at Škrbina Plazje, then via the Slovenian route to the top, nothing new on the path you'd say, from the top down to the junction for Huda škrbina and along the ridge to MKM. There we went back a bit, and down the gully to the path that goes to V Koncu, down to the hut under Rob nad Zgačami, and down the old mule track to Loška Koritnica. The upper part of this path is quite nice, the lower part mostly buried, overgrown, so don't recommend this path. Transport was of course properly organized. Otherwise a nice day, such as there probably won't be any more this autumn, at least not so warm.
