A few days after the full moon it's always nice. Still in pitch darkness past the alpine pasture on the summer path to the old hut all the way to the saddle. The moon's glow saved me quite some battery as the light was not needed at all.
At the route fork this time I choose the Slovenian [route]. There is still plenty of snow on the path, which is soft and manageable with an ice axe. I reach the summit before sunrise and enjoy the awakening of the new day. After less than an hour I decide to descend and since the Italian [route] doesn't appeal to me I go by the "winter route." Dry at the start then compact snow all the way to the traverse. I spice up the descent with touring skiing all the way to the bend under the saddle. From there first along the road past the hut and summer shortcut back to the valley.

Conditions from @Mangrt description haven't changed much. In the Slovenian [route] upper part still some snow patches, protections withstood winter well, only one cable over "landslide" where path shifted left is torn but not key, so passage easy. Descended Italian [route], part of path still under snow.
Road to Mangart saddle officially open today.

Yesterday on Mangart. Start from Log pod Mangartom and bike to saddle, leave it there and continue to top via Italian and descend same to saddle. Followed by insane descent all the way to car

Slovenian route on Mangart was today except in the lower part elsewhere still quite under snow. Problematic unprotected sections were quite hard to pass, especially because there's so little snow that you can't use crampons. But of course enough to slip. Where there's more snow, now there are solid steps made. I think this weekend it won't be "summer" passable yet.
Attention, one fixed rope is unusable (almost stretched), one is under snow.
Via normale and via ferrata perfectly passable.

Can someone advise if the Italian route on Mangart is suitable for vertigo sufferers? I already went over Komarča and on Slovenian to Ledine, but the latter seemed quite exposed to me
