I think I'll have to wait a bit, July or August with that ferrata. Thanks anyway.

Still winter conditions on Mangart. Up the "winter" one, down the Italian.

Today's approach to the summit was not possible via winter variant as fresh snow didn't provide proper grip. Decided for northeast gully and along ridge to summit. Wait for sunrise and return same way towards Mlinč.

Up to the last tunnel no problem. Some stones in the tunnel otherwise OK.

At least one who rides up with road bike, not MTB!!! Go Grega, and to the hut for a beer (if it's open)!

Hi, anyone been to Mangart last days? Interested in conditions from Belopeški lakes (via Italiana) or Slovenian path? Is it very slippery up there now? Thanks Regards

Just called Mangart hut. They say Via Italiana is passable, but behind the window there is no rope, but that part people cross. They say it's not so exposed.

IgorZlodej, is it passable without ice axe and crampons, or are they mandatory?

Ice axe comes in quite handy.

Yesterday we were on Mangart and met quite a few in Adidas and even opanke... This mountain no joke, on 5 snow patches ice below and no protections, so at least poles if not ice axe and crampons recommended! Don't go brainless into mountains! Safe trip.

Yesterday on Mangart. With Rajko we started in Bovec and biked via Log and Strmec to the saddle. At the saddle we met Lara, who encouraged us the whole way and carried all the needed gear. To Mangart we went via the Italian route and descended likewise via the same. For the end, a wonderful descent followed all the way back to Bovec

Hello, for those who were up last weekend or if someone is going soon - how many snow patches are still on the Italian path from the saddle and if they are on places dangerous for any serious slip? We have poles and good shoes, ice axe and crampons unfortunately not... Many thanks in advance!

The number of threads is not important, one is enough, there are more Poles for Mangart are not needed or are completely unnecessary

Mr. Igor, thanks for that really interim intermezzo... Of course I am asking if there are any snow patches left and where they are, whereby the data on the quantity of the latter does not interest me... I hope with this additional clarification to get some useful answer...

Look at my post from 6.7. There is no essential difference, but they are at different spots, I don't have GPS coords
