I'll answer myself, maybe someone else will be interested. From the hunting hut to the saddle between Mali vrh and Rdeča skala the path used to be marked. You can see that the path was worked on. Mostly the path is clearly visible, here and there still some marking. If you stick to the worked/trodden path it's completely easy.

Darxta! When you buy something, you should first check what you bought; if you sell it further, you must give accurate data. Mangart road is closed in the part below Rdeča skala. Drivable to the Hut at Mangart Saddle (1906m). The ascent to Mangart itself is lengthened by approx. 100 vertical meters.

Even more accurate data is that it is not recommended but actually possible to drive and park at Mangart Saddle. Many despite official driving ban there arrive without problems. Everyone judges for themselves.

You can drive to the top, nobody will stop or fine you. In case a stone flies into your car above the barrier, you cover the costs yourself!

Everyone can calculate for themselves what kind of fine one pulls for ignoring such notices or closure signs. How many penalty points and how many euros for such pretending. The excuse that you're illiterate doesn't help here either. Regards

julius He asked if driving is still prohibited. I answered him and added the official source of information. I didn't act smart about whether you can drive to the end or not. Thanks to the others for supplementing me, but I didn't sell anything to anyone, let alone inaccurate data.

Sunset on Mangart, up the Italian route, down the Slovenian route, where there was a bit of ice, but just in the right place there's also a chain.

Some time has passed since our ascent to Mangart, but memories of this wonderful mountain are still very pleasant. Need to go again. Next time we'll surely put helmets on too, because with many hikers it's almost necessary. If it helps anyone for better idea of the path, I'm attaching a short video. Starting point Mangart saddle, up Slovenian path, down Italian path. Mangart, 2679 m

Post by ljubitelj gora from 27.9. gave me idea for Saturday afternoon-evening tour and it was nice. At summit two more photographers who slept on the mountain! Most demanding part of tour is meeting on narrow and airy road A few more pics: https://tinyurl.com/y9x7cko3

Today on Mangart via winter (variant 5a/5d Primorske). Winter gear needed already before fork and even if going Ita route. Conditions top, snow crisp. Clouds just below summit.
