Nanos was interesting today. From Razdrto I went along the path near the wind turbine. It's steep. Down in the forest it's quite muddy. Just before the hut rain caught me, mixed with snow. At the hut I waited until it stopped snowing a bit, although it was plus three. I planned to descend past the little church, but since the weather got worse I descended the same path. It was thundering too as I descended. The road to the hut is plowed. I don't know if the hut was closed last weekend, because the snow wasn't cleared at all to the hut.

On Friday I was on Nanos, beautiful day with a bit of bora. Went from Razdrto up the steep path and down the gentle one, both paths still have some snow that'll melt soon. Hut was open, caretaker said it's open Fri-Sun until May. Uncleared snow in front of hut doesn't mean it's closed over winter, bora does its thing.

This time the princess was the one who took me on the hike, so the goal of the tour and the path to it were her choice  Despite the wind we had a great time, weather was clear and views accordingly. Since the path tired us, we made it to Vipava, where we ate ice cream at Marjanca's  Once more it proved that you don't need to go far or high to have a good time

We too today on Nanos, nice day and real summer weather. Metod, regarding the caretaker I'd say that's everyday, not just a bad day! Otherwise wonderful day!

Today's April Nanos. Truly April-like. From Razdrto. Both parking lots completely full. No surprise, cloudless day. My path as usual behind the wind turbine. Somewhat windy and muggy. Didn't go to the hut, don't like crowds. Rather to Grmada then to St. Jerome's chapel. There rain and hail poured. Plus it thundered. Sheltered a while, several gathered. Then descend gentle path in rain and thunder. At start wet, sun shone, clouds gone. Still nice interesting hike. Lots of hikers on path.

Today first time on Nanos. Start Razdrto. Steep path up. Continue to Furlan shelter at Abram. Path very well marked. Back same to Nanos, refuel there. Gentle path back to Razdrto. Storm caught us too but no bother - had raincapes

8.7.2018 - Poor weather forecast for Gorenjska directed us to Primorska side, to Nanos; quite a few of us "trudged" up the steep-climbing one, quite a few also from Abram and the "snail"; this time too no escape from wind, north wasn't friendly at all; on circular return together with numerous hikers we enthusiastically admired the flowered plateau with numerous alpine flowers, among which stood out a real sea of edelweiss..

I'm interested in other points on the Nanoška plateau. Can someone tell me what "Kotel" is? I noticed the sign by the road Šmihel - Suhi vrh.
Next, I'm not interested in the path to the Podravska tura. Is access possible also for ordinary hikers not just climbers, or how to get there from the fire station (Šembije hut)? LP

Nanos 16.9. From Razdrto to Vetrnica. Although the parking lots were full, on this path I didn't meet really many hikers. It was very warm. And surprisingly calm. No wind. In the hut I got a cold beer quickly, although quite a few of us were at the counter. I descended via Grmada on a gentle path to the starting point.

Nanos from Razdrto, steep up, gentle down. In the sun in a t-shirt with rolled-up sleeves, on the foggy summit where it was blowing strongly, then jacket, hat and gloves. But huge number of visitors

Morning Nanos in fog. And the whole way to the hut from Razdrto where we went on the path to Vetrnica. Below the path quite muddy, higher up mostly fine. I expected more snow on the path anyway, but much of it had melted. On Grmada the sun showed. It warmed nicely, but not for long. Down on the gentle path.

On Friday, on the path from the hut towards Suhega vrh, I saw bear tracks twice. The first ones were a few 100 meters from the hut, the others under Suhi vrh (gentle path).
