We went for a little hike today on the Abram - Vojkova koča path. The path is nicely marked, on the path itself there is some fallen wood.
The sun quickly hid behind the clouds, so the warm hut was very welcome jezik

Yesterday I looked at Nanos from afar, today I went to see how it looks closer up. Parking in Razdrto was full. I met lots of hikers. The hut is open on weekends. Snow is melting. I thought there would be more. No wind. Really nice day for hiking.

It was an interesting hike on Christmas Eve to Nanos, where they have mass at 22:00 in the little church of St. Hieronymus. It was the first time I joined this hike. From Razdrto, start at 19:00. But on another path where I haven't walked yet. It was quite steep. And it was warm that night. There were lots of hikers. One and a half hours of uphill walking. Only the stars were shining and our lights. The hut was open and totally full. Then we went to the church, where a priest from Ljubljana held mass; he was a bit late. The interior of the church was lit only with candles, and it was really nicely romantic. Singers sang up on the choir. After mass, we descended on a gentle path to the valley. We had a bit different Christmas Eve.

I heard an invitation for a hike on the radio, so we went

That one-and-a-half-hour ascent passed quickly.

We had a fast pace. I usually walk more slowly.

Little church - renovated. First time I was inside.

It's not even that hard to walk at night

Yes, really, it was so nice and unique, as it hasn't been for a long time. An event that gives me strength...

The priest didn't miss anything, since nobody started before his arrival, if you noticed.

If you head somewhere to the foothills after ten in the morning, Nanos is a good tour. Especially today, after it has been whitened. From Razdrto I went up the steep path. Crampons stayed in the backpack. Some had them for the descent. Nice views today. It was just windy, especially on the ridge, when I went towards the little church on the gentle path down.

The view up there was nice when I started hiking. It was windy already below.

I went straight up where the power line is laid. Otherwise I prefer going around.

I saw two cyclists today near Vojkova koča.

Here on the ridge I thought I would be blown away.

The path was icy in places, probably due to wind and low temperatures.

I didn't stop anywhere, it was too cold.

Little church - I saw it only from afar.

When they close the motorway to trucks on the Vipava side because of wind, it is the right moment for "fresh air lovers" to go to Nanos. The path to the top is really very nasty, no snow, but on the path (both the steep one and "the long one") almost everywhere ice where there are no rocks. On top, a real delight in fighting the bora, when at the antennas despite poles you can't go and can't go further.

Warm, almost no wind. Morning quite icy, during the day thaw and consequently wet, muddy and slippery.

From Razdrto up steep and over Pleša all to Abram.
Return past idyllic Šembijska bajta and along ridge past St. Hieronimus back to parking.
Didn't imagine Nanos is so looong, so today's tour took us quite some time. velik nasmeh

On Sunday I plan from Razdrto to St. Jeronim, further to the shelter at Abram, to Vojkova koča on Nanos and back to Razdrto. Is the path from St. Jeronim to Abram marked? How much time is needed for this path? Is 6-7 hours enough? Thanks to everyone for the answer in advance nasmeh

The path to Abram is surely marked. Depends on how fast you walk. And from Razdrto via the steep one it's only an hour and a half.

I'd rate the pacing like this: razdrto-sv.jeronin: 50-60'. Sv.jeronim-abram: again under an hour. Abram-vojkova: 1h20'. Vojkova-razdrto: 30' steep, 20' over scree. This without any running. Of course if you're at Abram on Sunday njoki are obligatory, so the trip extends by an hour or two nasmeh

(I recommend reservation as there is usually a rush of Italians on Sundays) mežikanje

Festive Nanos, with lots of visitors and almost no wind. Path from Vojkovo hunting hut is without features nasmeh

@Tolminc - from picture 8 it seems we were at the hut at the same time mežikanje

; we also came from hunting hut direction - really nice approach with scenic views, the path itself easy and well marked; on return we stopped at Abram too; we came from Podnanos, returned circular to Podkraj (nice road) and Logatec; summit pleasant only when sun shone, otherwise quite cold, so longer martinčkanje out; lots of visitors, but others didn't linger and at least from observing no crowd at benches, but more in the hut; lp nasmeh

Nanos plateau today. No sun. Nice day for walking because breeze blew and cooled the body. Went from Razdrto. Parking full in the morning. On the path behind the wind turbine. At least that's what they called it. Quite steep and gravelly. Flowers full along the path. That's the season. Nobody at the hut. Umbrella stayed in backpack. No rain. From Pleše went to Grmada. Then to St. Hieronim church which was open. In an hour at 12 they said mass. Down via easy path to car. Then Nanos covered in clouds.

This is the first time I went during the day on this steep path to the wind turbine, as they call it

I have never seen so much wild strawberry along the path

it is nicely traceable and I met some hikers

this hiker is going straight over the scree. Poor shoes.

further on the path joins the steep path, which is much more frequented

also to Grmada, which is on the way. Up there is the summit log book and box

September Nanos today. Went via steep path behind wind turbine, as they call it. Met almost nobody until hut. Blew a little. Thought it would be windier. No rain either, at least those few hours walking. Down via easy path past St. Hieronymus church.
