When you go to a mountain for the first time in dry conditions it's exciting, but when you go for the first time in snow, it's even more appealing. And if cold northern winds prevail on the mountain, as it was yesterday, it's a real winter experience that will always remind you of that mountain.
But yesterday's conditions weren't for everyone, you had to be quite stubborn and persistent, and really want to stand on that summit.

Some turned back yesterday, didn't reach the top, but those of us who did felt the joy of winners. It was worth it!

Dear ločanka, is the road passable to the hut, if not, where did you start for the summit of Ojstrc? We plan ascent on Friday, from Croatia. Thank you very much. Nice regards and happy hikingnasmeh

yes, we had starting point from Šajda saddle (Schaidasattel), 1069 m. I don't know about the road to the hut, but they said it's not maintained. Maybe worth trying and drive as far as you cannasmeh.

On Saturday 4.1.2020 to Ojstrc from Šajda up and down. Path below dry, in between icy sections, from the clearing upwards wintery and along the ridge very icy. Use of at least microspikes mandatory. Views excellent, caught some more sun then strong wind and clouds started.

Yesterday, circular, Šajda - Obir - Hut - Šajda.

What we didn't manage last Sunday we walked yesterday. Last Sunday we turned back on the ridge, the wind was so strong that Romana had no balance anymore. The wind shifted her a few times by a meter, so we turned back to the valley. Yesterday also strong wind, but it was walkable. Upper part of the path we had "ketnice" on. Hut closed for winter, road not plowed, icy, in places dry, some cars up. The path we walked, super for hiking.

I paid 6€ myself to get us to the highest parking lot, princess didn't contribute a single cent mežikanje At eight there was no one anywhere and almost to the top we met only a few who were already descending. Path without features, where there are some fallen trees it's trodden around, no livestock on pasture yet. Weather went our way, ample wind, plenty of sun, mists and clouds towards the end of the tour more than at the start and during. Above the ruins big patch of snow where you can slip on soles or on your backside if you have bad luck and are clumsy or clumswoman. Given high start and accordingly relatively small elevation difference the best conclusion: "Short and sweet". nasmeh

been there twice last year, nice place, led team on circular tour from Šajda saddle, I always remember at hut Eisenkapplerhütte "schinken brot" small ham sandwich 50 cm long!!!!eek + beer of coursevelik nasmeh

I remember only coffee - großer brauner and strudel - apfelstrudel mit vanillesauce, in spring when we ski toured there. Sometimes road up to hut and further, another time from Šajda. Soon for birra Moretti alla spina nasmeh
