What if you pay the parking fee, but at Planina Blato there's no place to park? Do they refund the money?

For the next trip I'll take the train to Bohinjska Bistrica and won't need to go to the starting point as usual when I drive by car. Just like we used to hike 40 years ago. I remember year 73 when I was first on Triglav, there was already a bus from Nova Gorica over Vršič. It dropped us at the bend for Zadnjica. And we did a three-day tour. Last day over Komarča to Bohinj. Bohinj remained in great memory because until the train arrival we had plenty of time and borrowed boats and went rowing on Lake Bohinj. I was 15. The bus also went to Bohinjska Bistrica and then by train home. Without cars, who had them then?

This self-satisfaction already exceeds all reasonable limits. On the websites of the Municipality of Bohinj all rules are written for using the road to Planina Blato and other pastures. Previously on this forum it was also explained in which cases the barrier does not open (quota of cars reached, timber hauling, road maintenance works...) Personally I welcome this measure, because I'm convinced that now I'll always get a parking space, which until now was not regular practice. No more will those who now got up an hour earlier with heavy heart to avoid the "parking fee" collectors occupy spaces. Also those early birds who entered for free after escaping the collectors and then parked there for several days won't occupy parking spots anymore. You've seen those high-standard proofs parked there with a centimeter-thick layer of dust all over the car. Also masters with campers who barricaded themselves there for a few days will now be rarer. Come on, open a discussion on "Tourist tax". When you as a family, 4 PZS members, sleep just one night in a mountain hut, you'll pay more for tourist tax than for the aforementioned road toll. Well now calculate. I greet you all nicely and already look forward to a free spot for my little car at Planina Blato.

julius I also greet you very nicely and sincerely hope I won't spoil your joy if I take the last free spot at Blato and there won't be space for your kroto, if I go there of course. After your determined writing I think you fairly slammed the table before pouring out all anger from yourself. Regarding the nice greetings at the end I think you're exceedingly self-satisfied

hey..hikers...a bit for fun...this "barrier" at Blato has really led to it grabbing you into the "mud"..everyone contributed a little, together we saved up for about a liter of Donat...anyway, best that we all go to Blato together once, those who go on foot from Janez, everyone who goes up by car owes him a beer...and up there we arrange everything, best regards to all

Although my roots are also in the Bohinj area, because of the cash-grabbing that proud Bohinj locals have been engaging in for some time now and are only intensifying and raising the amounts, I'm not jumping for joy into the air. And obviously I'll just continue and especially intensify my mountaineering visits to the Western Julian Alps and Carnic Alps.

Just for info, now asphalt is extended practically to the top. Otherwise whoever really has to drive up. If there are 4 in the car it costs you less than a beer in the hut. So...

I don't go to Planina Blato by car, because then the car is dirty as if I'd driven rally through mud.

Panda, that I really don't get. Only 200 m before the end is end of asphalt, and you have such a car as if you drove rally through mud? Come on don't bullshit klamf.

They really raised it. Yeah, nothing, we'll adapt and park somewhere else , and there are plenty of other starting points too. Bohinj is anyway adios in summer, especially when all the tourist crowd piles into it. How does the barrier work? You take a ticket as usual. They have a payment machine at Blato bottom, and you pay by days???

Lisica When going up you take the ticket from the machine. On return there's a machine on the right before the barrier where you pay the "parking fee" and get a receipt and validated ticket, which you then insert at the barrier so it lifts.

Hehehe, gonna have to take some flex saw along. Best if the Bohinjci make a ramp in Bohinjska Bistrica, then tourists, behave ecologically, suitcases in backpacks and boats and walk to Bohinj.

And who goes to the mountains of neighboring countries nicely quietly throws euro coins into the machine so it raises the barrier for us or at toll booths pays hefty tolls for mountain roads.

Some of us are already watching the petrol, how far you go to the mountains; we don't all have parliamentary salaries, not to support bohince. For hikers there should be some acceptable price, not that they fleece you at every step. We'll just go hiking elsewhere.

10€ just for driving up and down is not little. Say someone goes on a tour, one or multi-day, and someone just drops him at the starting point. Is it fair that he pays full price like those whose vehicle is parked all day? Couldn't it be arranged so that one hour is 1€, you can stay up to three hours, then you pay full day. And you could go on a trip to Vogar, say, walk there, drink and eat something and drive back to the valley within those three hours. And would it be too much to designate one or two parking lots near the lake, where with paid toll to Blato that day you also get two hours of parking in the valley (lunch and swimming). Idea for innkeepers With paid toll to Blato we offer you 10% discount. or If you eat and drink 40€ or more with us, we refund your Blato toll. or In the dairy you get 20% off Bohinj dairy products if you show the Blato toll receipt. And so on. Tourism is people and if for relatively big money you offer something more, not just a few km of asphalt and some dust at the end, people get the feeling that locals care about guests' pleasant stay and not just their money

I already said years ago that at Vodice towards Ljubljana they should do the same as Bohinj people and charge Bohinj folks a separate toll for entry to central Slovenia. Say 10-15 EUR per day.
