Planina Blato-toll

Print
sirt15. 07. 2018 17:10:45
I agree that we should set up customs at the Gorenjska borders, and charge blatnodolcem some 50 euros per day. We'll get at least something back from what the blatnodolski sheriff rakes in!
Bohinjci will have to raise prices quite a bit to reach the blatnodolski level!

Uf, you're quite set against Bohinj people. Well, they market what they have.
Once we started from Planina Blato and I don't want to repeat that - indescribable crowd of parked cars at the end of the road, we barely parked after half km reverse drive - so there are more than enough people willing to pay for this road. If parking here and elsewhere was free, there would be even more cars. The road needs to be built and maintained; if you want to drive for free to 1000+ meters, there are plenty of roads in various conditions here.
To the mountains it's anyway best to go on foot from the valley, not push with car into heights nasmeh

@turbo You wrote super.
I agree that toll should be paid but this is no longer toll. Last year I went for 4 days together to the mountains just up there only so that I parked in Krma, you pay huts, food which is not cheap, then have to pay another 40€ for parking. No thanks. As someone already wrote we don't all have parliamentary salaries. There are many starting points, not all are as greedy as Bohinjci...

Primož, you could move some ministry and a couple agencies from Ljubljana to Baška grapa, then no factory needed.
Anyway, in Logarska one pays honestly for years, regardless of time spent in the valley. And no such panic as for Blato.
Ah, Ljubljančani don't go there.

Drago,
toll for Logarska dolina is 7€. Along the road to the end of the valley you can see a lot:

And at the end there's an inn, toilet and viewpoint under the waterfall. To Blato you drive, along the road not much, up there nothing.

For nature preservation and calm nerves on the forum, it would take just two trucks of scree over the road, and that's it.velik nasmeh

Years of cashing in, done practically nothing. Greed without limits.

Bohinj belongs to the Bohinjci and let them manage it as they want, but still the mentality prevails: in cities capitalism (everything is paid), in the countryside socialism (everything free and everything ours).

I think but seriously, this pushing of Ljubljanans onto their own sore narrow-mindedness at every opportunity is really sad. Especially from old hillwalkers, I really wouldn't expect that.

Who are these puny Ljubljanans anyway? In parliament there are fewer than a sample, likewise among Slovenian politicians. And Ljubljana entrances are jammed every morning with "honest non-Ljubljanans" who vegetate in public administration and tailor dumb laws for us. Also from Bohinj not rare are those who drive to Ljubljana to work, pick up pay there and leave behind only car stink. Myself too among them, so at least I'm quiet rolling eyes

Can come in handy for trips and paths in Bohinj areas:

If you say something about people from Ljubljana, even in a joke, you're narrow-minded.
But if you target Bohinj locals day in day out, whom we also pollute instead of on weekdays but especially on weekends, you're ahead of time or what?
It's fair that if you have to pay for your steel horse in Ljubljana, you also pay for it in Bohinj.

At Logarska it was mentioned what all they offer us for that money in the valley. If you use none of it, it's your own fault or what?

To me it still seems better that when the visit reaches the "ceiling", the road is not closed, but an anti-dust measure with parking is arranged and visitors are charged accordingly. And as I understood from the discussion, this has been arranged at Blato.

And one more thing. When an area becomes so massively visited that locals have to defend themselves with various restrictions (including payments), then we must ask ourselves how many times a year we go there. Or maybe not too often, thereby taking away the opportunity to visit from someone else or loading additional financial burden on him and ourselves.
It's not just a problem at Blato. Soon it will be similar in all frequented areas. We ourselves will do the most if we don't constantly go to the same place.

When I was a child going to planina Laz, no toll was collected and no one drove up with a car, with a tractor it barely made it. Now the road is asphalted and you can drive up with a Ferrari smile so, where did the money go, huh?eek

Right Anansie, and to Vodnikov dom one normally went on foot through Voje (from Ribčev laz!), there was no car access to Blato. Why they opened that road at all, I don't know. What you're arguing about now is because of such road openings everywhere. Spit... angry

Drago you have a bit right, only if we tourists to Bohinjci, Ljubljančani and others in tourist places so on nerves as crowd make, then let them stop advertising as tourist destinations and visit will slowly drop. Everyone so sorry that so much folk only when count coins then all ok.. Normal need to make a bit order, but my opinion let order be for mutual satisfaction and not only satisfaction of municipal and other cash registers.. I emphasize..this applies to all our corners not only Bohinj..

Hello all,
I even called them, asked and complained about their way of collecting road use fees. Also that it doesn't seem fair to me that if I go to the hills for 4 to 5 days during the week, I have to pay 50 eur because I don't use the road. I use it only when I go to planina Blato and from the planina, that's max 20 eur. I also suggested that they allow mountaineers who regularly pay membership fees entry with a mountaineering card until a certain hour and that they implement it with document control as they do in Logarska dolina. They said they are testing the whole thing this year and will consider comments in the future. I hope so. Otherwise, I am of the opinion that nature needs to be protected and tourism should be charged.

Anansie
You really are a modern guy if you can't distinguish logging tracks from forest roads. I've walked all those areas on my own feet and my head never ached because of tolls, since back then there were none and we went to the mountains from the valley, not like today when you have to drive up to the mountains!!!!
WALK TO THE MOUNTAINS WHILE THERE'S STILL TIME, BECAUSE THE TIME WILL COME WHEN THERE'S NO MORE TIME, AND THAT TIME IS COMING SOON!
AND WHEN YOU GO TO THE MOUNTAINS, GO ON FOOT AND DON'T DRIVE!!!!

Flapho, I agree with your thinking, I'd just add one thing, that just like hiking "by car", spring inquiries about whether the path is passable without winter gear are annoying to me at least. Are crampons and ice axe really that heavy and is it worth risking your life for a kilogram of extra weight in the backpack ??
And safe steps in the mountains to all visitors.

slavkoa, look a bit "across the borders" and think that some don't have winter gear and are so-called "summer" hikers who can hardly wait for the snow to melt and accordingly choose destinations.
