Started at Raspet, already there half a meter of snow. There's a track, new snow 5-15 cm. Met some people, right at the top it was blowing, in shelter no. Returned by the approach path.

Today conditions were great. From Davča it's dry to the chapel above Jurež. Then hard snow, some ice. In the initial part some shorter dry sections. On the summit ridge real winter. I started in the afternoon, when the last two skiers arrived back at the car; then to the top and back I didn't meet a soul. Apparently that's quite unusual for Porezen. Yeah, retirees can afford weekdays now that we can finally leave our municipality. nasmeh
A couple of minutes from the chapel a beautiful panorama of Porezen opens up.1
Above the abandoned bajta I step onto the meadows. The snow is just right for walking.2
On the ridge it's as if cut with a knife: on the south side it's bare.3
At the top it blows fiercely.4
The ridge to the hut is well snow-covered and great for walking. Let alone for skiing.5
The hut is hidden under a white blanket.6
The signposts are already out.7
I descended to the saddle.8
On the left the path turns towards Petrovem Brdu, but I took it to the right downhill off trail.9
View back to the sunny saddle.10
In five minutes I unexpectedly came across a forest road.11
It led straight in the right direction, so I just followed it.12
Except for a few short sections, it is snowy right up to the chapel.13

sAleska, did you go up from the hunting hut (Dajče)?

sAleska, fine trip, but I don't understand what's the point of describing the same trip here and under commented trips with almost the same text. To avoid misunderstanding the same applies to quite a few forum members. Here describe the done trip, there eventual remarks on the approach description and amen.

Mirank thanks for the note. I thought of deleting my writing at commented trips or at least correcting it but I don't see the option. I've wondered several times what the difference is because I can't find a description of what to write where; so I'm grateful for the explanation. I'll improve. jezik

mirank - your remark motivated me to find and read the instructions. Yes, it's well explained. Thanks again.

I went from Zgornja Davča. Above the Jurež farm I chose the left road to the chapel and onwards on the marked path.
Only then I noticed I had written in the description from the Petrov Brdo side. So already the second blunder in the same post. zavijanje z očmi Sorry.

Today from the chapel above Jurež to Porezen. At the start quite some cars, mostly touring skiers. Further from the chapel the path is snowy and impassable. About 100 m of freshly fallen trees. Morning quite clear, then fog quickly appeared and it cleared only just below the summit, and only briefly. Snow initially hard and locally icy, walking very pleasant. No views from the top today, some wind on the ridge. Pleasant temperatures. Descent super fast - snow was just right softened, so we "skied" several times just with boots nasmeh
Nice places and pleasant winter atmosphere nasmeh
We parked just a few meters away.1
Towards Soriska planina and Ratitovec.2
The summit ridge of Porezen is snow-covered and clearly visible from the starting point.3
once again4
Across the stream5
No more narrow path, but a new, fresh, wide road. Another view towards the ridge.6
The path is nicely marked all the time.7
This is how it looks with snow just before reaching the pasture from the forest.8
The hut is falling apart... for a very long time already9
The livestock trough sticks out of the snow, the churned meadow is snow-covered10
We were lucky that the fog cleared a bit for a short while. The western edge of Porezen is truly stunning, bare and looks dangerous11
The summit is already visible, snow somewhat windblown, firm base, highly variable snow depth12
View of the path traversed, below is Konjsko brdo or Medrca13
Further along the ridge to the right, towards Hoč14
First we went to the hut along the cross path by the fence and en route encountered interesting rock formations15
On the ridge fog i.e. cloud and much snow at this spot16
Snow drift also in front of the hut - viewed from the hut entrance towards Hoč17
Walking the ridge towards the summit, in places completely windswept. Ground frozen.18
Summit. At the same time: 3 ski tourers, group of 5 hikers and us two19
On return, they left it open :)20

Hello. Interested if anyone was on Porezen in recent days and what conditions are like. Especially interested in how much snow is left and if crampons are needed. Thanks in advance.

I was today on Porezen from Petrov Brdo. Parked at the mountain hut (closed) by the road, where there were no cars. Snow starts above 1100 m and continuous to the top. In the forest still quite hard, when out of forest it's southern exposed. Doesn't sink too much. Just right for descent. Better than any crampons or microspikes are good boots. We met only about 8 hikers, all without crampons. Snow above tree line still quite some.

Porezen from Zgornja Davča, over Jakobčeva grapa where I struggled quite a bit and along the ridge further. Cold, a bit windy at the hut so much snow I haven't seen. Thought to descend directly to Davča but snow was hard, returned to Porezen summit. Down below Medrce summit and to Konjsko brdo. Through forest to new forest path. And back to Zg. Davča over streams, some I didn't jump but stepped into water. Still check the waterfalls and home.

I recommend starting at Davški Waterfalls, we see them incidentally, then continue from them along the forest path by the water and across streams to the intersection with the marked path from Jurež. The path is thus slightly longer, but more interesting, prettier and solitary. nasmeh

At the intersection there's still a warning on the tree about path closure, but the forest road higher up is already made and the path (at least currently - early June) is normally passable and also marked. Now you walk a few minutes on this new forest road and the landscape is quite changed.

Snow is only left at the hut! velik

And also Porezen from Hudajužna, from the old (now abandoned) starting point near the railway station along the unmarked path to the abandoned farm at Rovt and from there to the marked trail (Four Municipalities Mountain Marathon). Some photos: first for orientation in the lower, unmarked part, then for motivation so that someone else ascends to this magical corner.

Twelve hikers hoped for nice weather on Porezen on Saturday, in vain this time. But even this quiet, cloudy, foggy day has its charm in good company. We went from Davča to the summit of Porezen. Thanks to the friendly hut warden and in agreement with our guide, a warm hut full of goodies awaited us. We socialized a bit, chatted, the guide presented plans for a trip to South America. Despite the still somewhat bad weather on departure, wind, showers, we safely descended and rejoiced at the completed tour and new gatherings.

We were on Saturday from Poče and I can only say that traces were visible from the hut in that direction. The hut is open on nice weekends, no snow on the summit ridges, as it's blown down to the ground or to hard old base.
