@bos was there lots of snow on path? Was descent much harder? Need via ferrata kit for ridge?

I too was yesterday up the ridge and down Slovenska. Up almost no snow, down not much either, but right on the path so great caution was needed. The snow surprised us and legs slipped a few times. So be careful and good luck.

Via ferrata kit not needed as not many cables. Snow on descent is quite annoying, if I had known it was like that I would have descended the ridge too.

Still some snow on the path?

Tomorrow going to Prisank. Or rather on today's conditions, which path safer and easier: slovenska or grebenska.

None of them represent a difficult ascent. The ridge path is more direct and scenic. In the wet, watch your step on steeper sections with a firm step, but postpone the tour during afternoon thunderstorms - lightning!.

@furman Yesterday we also set off for Prisank - through the window. At the top I looked for little horses to recognize "furman", but there were none. Were you up there? And how did it go for you?

@Irina Thanks for asking. I was up there. I went via the Slovenska. I was at the top around 13:00 to 13:30, yeah but without a little horse It was great. No problems. Perfect tour after almost a year's break from the Alps. This was also the first time I went to such a mountain alone. Thanks also to everyone who gave me info on the forum in the past days. From now on I won't go anywhere without the forum on hribi.net.

@furman I'm glad you did a nice ascent after a year's break. Yeah, add some photo from one of the next trips. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow promise two wonderful days. Worth using them somewhere in the mountains. Good luck on all your paths.

But anyone with info from Hanzova, how are the snowfields, fixed protections,...?

On the jubilee path I found white leather Edelrid gloves today. If anyone misses them, contact me.

Wishes are one thing, reality another. In short, I'd like to head to Prisank via Hanzova path. I'm not a beginner, pitons, cables, cliffs and crossings are not foreign to me, but why watch only for holds the whole way if you can also enjoy. So, where can I hire an experienced mountain guide? Nothing beats a male hand to safely lead me over the wall.

http://www.zgvs.si/ if you really want a mountain guide, contact them via the link. Maybe even a gentle female hand. LP B

@ ben, thanks for the link. The selection is quite wide. Somehow I don't understand your note, "if you really want a mountain guide". My hiking companion is not always enthusiastic about climbing and why wander alone if not necessary. Least of all would she want to appear in the "black chronicle".

Well, Irina, I don't know your mountaineering experience, but from what's written, that you're not a beginner, that pitons and precipices are not foreign to you, I conclude you could probably manage this path alone too. It's sufficiently protected, though a bit less in the upper part, but it has only this addition that you usually need an ice axe and crampons to cross one snowfield. But you're right: why would you go fooling around alone.... Lp B

With my friend we tried one of the harder Slovenian climbing routes (that's what they say), from Vršič via Kopiščarjeva to Prisank. For this time of year (???), given the high temperatures it seems to me that we chose quite the right path to the top, since we walked in the shade all the way to the ridge, compared to the southern path this one is really much less crowded. We descended via the ridge path, unfortunately still meeting inadequately equipped hikers.
