We parked at Radušnik. The road to Loka won't be passable for some time yet. Probably can go along it to Kosmačevi Rastk, then on foot.

With Nejc we started hiking at the last farm in Bistrica. From there we chose the path to Knezova planina. Up to here without snowshoes, continued over the other two planins, Vodol and Javornik, interested in the state of the path to Loka. A strangely routed path led us to Raduha. Descended via little Raduha, above Durce, to Lanež. Now only Jelovec ahead. Climbed that too. For attractive descent to Bistrica Nejc took care with his guiding. He did this path once in dry conditions. Nice weather. Adapted to conditions on the fly. Regards.

Today I did the route from Radušnik to the summit. Snow starts around 1400 m. Road to the hut on Loka is impassable. From hut to summit still lots of snow, sank into it many times up to my ass cuz it's totally softened and hinders walking. Track is well visible. Nice to get some fresh air.

What are the conditions like from the snow cave to the top? Can you progress quickly or is it a big hassle?

Trodden, packed, goes quickly ahead. No winter gear needed.

I see new replies, but I'd still ask in detail, on Sunday we're going with the hiking club to Raduha from Radušnik, how much snow is left, does the snow blanket thicken from the farm onwards?, I see we don't need winter gear. How much snow is there in the last third of the path to the top? Thanks nasmeh

Snow starts above the hut at Loka. Higher it's a meter but trodden - track. Gaiters recommended due to postholing, especially from noon on when snow softens. Photo 12.4.2016.

BUKOVNIK-RADUHA

I've also been interested in conditions in Grohot for some days. So today after Olševa I went to check it out. First I filled my stomach with excellent bograc at the hut. Took some winter gear. Used only snowshoes on return in Grohot. Still plenty of snow. People ahead made good "tracks". Some places dug up on return, slower there. The path is currently through the middle, below little Raduha turns left with exit on the old variant through Durce. Continues in several directions, one over little Raduha, one in the middle and one follows the marked path. Plenty of snow on the whole path, today it held well on the "surface". From Loka direction well trampled, don't know if the track is already made on the marked path or still goes on the strange route. Currently good conditions through Grohot. Regards.

Hi

No worries you can go to Raduha it's not avalanche-prone and already well trodden, was up there today. Just take gaiters, still quite some snow here and there at the top.
