@redbull there's snow up there, I don't dare. Now deciding between Viševnik, Raduha and Montaz. Although Montaz will surely wait for better weather, Raduha doesn't appeal to me, Viševnik remains for this Saturday. I have no winter gear, so I always ask mežikanje

@cebelicaU I was on this path on Saturday. Some snow from the middle of the path, frozen in the morning, so small crampons would be useful at certain spots. Below the summit it sinks to the knees in places, but it's trodden so no problem nasmeh

On the summit almost snow-free, on the descent slippery and muddy. I always take this path because usually no one is there.. all go from the hut at Loka velik nasmeh

Today, after 12 years, car parked again near Bukovnik farm. Continued to Grohat Hut and on climbing path to Raduha summit. Pleasant sun at farm, cloudy at hut, higher to path split and climbing path direction cold, shady, path partly frozen, very muddy and slippery. No snow on path anywhere, some rocks icy, higher before ridge exit better conditions. Summit sunny, almost windless, visibility not best. Descended towards M. Raduha and Durc to start. Few on mountain, all except us from Koča na Loki direction.

some have a ring on one leg, some on both

This time started from Vodol over Javor to Loko and summit, back over Lanež.
Beautiful weather, almost summer.
Still many sheep at Javor.

From Bukovnik, via the climbing path to Raduha, descent to Planina Arto. View into the abyss of the snow cave. Along the path to Loka, from there to Durce and descent to Grohot, back to Bukovnik. Path dry, in Grohot only two larches across the path that slightly obstruct walking.

Since the parking lot at Loki was full this morning, I consciously turned via Konjska Loka to Lanež and enjoyed the peace. nasmeh

Of course Raduha was full of visitors, but when, if not now, when the wonderful autumn sun is spoiling us so nicely. mežikanje

Yesterday morning in Karavanke, afternoon in KSA. From Bukovnik to Grohot and via the secured path to the summit, descent via Durc back to Bukovnik. On the secured path there are some snow patches that are not problematic but caution is needed here and there. At the summit light wind and jackdaws at snack time. Also via Durc you cross some snow patches a few times. No problems, but not completely dry.

Ivan Hojnik - Carinthian priest (great patriot) traced this path to Lanež more than 80 years ago. Now it's left to the teeth of time. Otherwise, those few protections still serve their purpose and ease the ascent. Probably doesn't get excessive visits.

8 years ago on a late autumn day I stood in front of the gully and wanted to descend it to the hut at Grohat. Ivy, snow, ice deterred me from that feat.
Today too, on the ridge towards the wall it was a bit similar to that day. Only difference, we went up the gully. The overgrown approach ridge combed mists driven by the westerly. Higher up the sun shone behind the wall. The gully wasn't icy, just the rock was ice-cold. At Lanež sun/mist fighting for dominance.
Quite a few visitors at Raduha summit. A bit of wind, but still quite warm for the time. Descent via secured path slippery, icy in places. Patches of frozen snow no special issues. Just the rock icy and slippery in places. Ground frozen. Towards Grohat we continue along the ridge and then descent to the hut. At Bukovnik we sit outside at empty tables until the cold drives us away. The cold front already dominates the peaks, approaching us rapidly.
Tomorrow it will be all different...

Yesterday's circular tour to the snowy Raduha. Start at Planina Vodole, continue to Planina Javorje, Durce and over Mala Raduha to Velika Raduha. Descent via Planina Arta and along the road to the starting point. Weather slightly hindered us with light rain at the start and fog. Later the sun shyly appeared. nasmeh

Today we ascended Raduha from Luče. Up we went past the snow cave to Planina Arta (the footprints made yesterday by the guys returning here helped us) and to the summit. Descended past the hut at Loki and back the same way to Luče.
At the summit there were some views, but we didn't linger due to the cold wind velik nasmeh

Path without special features.
