Today up from Radušnik. Road was icy in the morning, so most turned back under the farm. zadrega

New snow towards top ca 30 cm and sinks to hard base of course. Due to old snow holding weight, no need for snowshoes today. Views from top super anyway, super fast descent in deep snow direct to hut on Loki. mežikanje

There is really a lot of snow. No junipers in sight.

On the summit there is an ice axe under the snow

Today on Raduha from Radušnik. Morning snow frozen, by 10am softened. Despite that it didn't sink much. Towards top small crampons recommended. Hut was open.

About five minutes above the Cirkovnice pasture junction (where the signposts are), snow starts and continues to the top. There were quite a few skiers who praised the skiing nasmeh

Interested if Raduha from Radušnik suitable for first winter mountain ascent? Besides small crampons and fitness, any other gear needed? Path exposed to avalanches? Anyone info on road drivability to mentioned farm - for low car?

You can drive to Radušnik with any car (road is asphalted). Park right below the farm (usually space by the wooden cabin). Park the car so you don't block others' access. Then across Radušnik's yard and follow markings to Loka. This approach is popular and the track will be made. In the morning you might need small crampons in the upper part, on return it will probably already be thawed. Avalanche won't surprise on this approach, boldly to Raduha!
To Radušnik from Struge or right turnoff between Luče and Šmica camp.

Hi, Raduha is great for such an ascent. On Saturday no crampons were needed despite the huge amount of snow. We went a different path, from Luče and left the car at the end of the asphalt (low car, still quite some snow further on the road). Go boldly and good luck.

With mates usually approach from Luče, return to Struge.

Today from Rogovilc via Arte to Raduha and back same path.

Part of path mostly impassable due to fallen trees. But detour along dragline possible. Otherwise lots of downed trees whole way. To Arte crisis, from there obstacles ease.

May 1 afternoon Raduha. Morning in Karavanke, afternoon in KSA. From Bukovnik by road to Grohat and via Durc to Raduha summit, and return by the same path. From afar it didn't look so varied as it was. Snow patches and snow are substantial. To Grohat dry - bells and bare. Then from basin to Raduha summit path 90% snow-covered. To Durc need to handle unpleasant slope crossing, path led a bit higher than marked. I tackled it with boots, microspikes, hiking poles and much caution. Ice axe not superfluous, good boots for sure. Snow slightly windcrusted, footprints there, slipping not advisable. Thought south side different, same story to summit some bare parts on ridge. Watch snow holes too. Summit alone but 4 jackdaws for company. Cloudy, light wind, view solid. Return easier than ascent. Did only one crossing, then directly down scree which is still deep under snow - pure enjoyment. Previous hiker additionally eased path with footprints. Ferrata already visited, but per info very adrenaline-packed - lots of snowfields.
