Today from Radušnik in the sun to this beautiful hill. smile

Road to starting point is OK. From there snow all the way, so at least no need to wash shoes on return. big

Track is made, a bit differently than in summer, but it serves anyway. Forecasted thaw will destroy it, as it mostly goes over scree still under snow for now.
Otherwise... top conditions today. winking

Raduha (08.02.21)

From Radušnik more or less directly up with snowshoes. From the forest road enough snow. Weather super, fog, snowing, at the top even a couple of minutes clear. That day not much fresh snow yet, started snowing during ascent. On Jelovec already 5cm fresh, much better skiing than before from 2064m, at least for me, the amateur.

Has anyone been from Loka to the top in the last few days? Is there a track, are any avalanches possible? I assume the snow sinks a lot. Thanks

Today I was on Velika Raduha from Radušnik up. The path from Loka up is trodden, almost nothing sank for me. I recommend microspikes for better grip and easier walking. Avalanches hard to judge, strong wind before summit. Summit no wind. Down slushy. Nice, few hikers.

From Loka up now gotta have real (bad) luck to see an avalanche.
Is there still snow in forest from Radusnik on or carry skis far before you can put them on

Arno decided to go with me. After 20 min fast walk to skis (bit past cross). Path trodden for walkers, avalanches impossible here now.

This weekend basically to (bend) Kosmačevih Rast, at least that's what a couple of ski tourers from there said... nasmeh

I wrote from the cross onwards on skis, so that means there's snow there. Height maybe a bit under 1300m

Today to Raduha from Miklavc farm. Parked a bit lower by the road. A few minutes later we realized Radušnik is higher. nasmeh

Very warm day, to the top in short sleeves. Views nice despite grayness in the air. After approximately half an hour of walking snow starts, lots of it afterwards. Locals say long time not so much. Snow structure changed with time and aspect. For descent we put on small crampons, mainly for better feel at the start of descent, otherwise express descent on many parts. Quite a few visitors. nasmeh
