We started hiking only at 9.30. In shady parts it held us on the surface, higher up on sun it started to soften a bit, but if we stuck to the track and steps, there was very little of it. The early ones said it was hard in the morning, no sinking. Good luck! nasmeh

Parking lot below Loka. The road won't be passable for some time yet.

Still plenty of snow and it does not sink in too much.

The views are again obstructed by the Sahara.

Yesterday on Raduha from Miklavc. Snow conditions very good, crampons welcome, otherwise quite hot. nasmeh

Raduha from Luče 13.3.2021

Haven't been to Raduha for a long time and after weighing options in the morning I decide to go up from Luče.
Path to Loka practically dry, on the pasture wintery, some new snow too. Hoped someone had broken trail before me and yes. Yay! Three guys early, two on foot, one on skis and I was glad for their tracks. Sometimes sinking and sliding, otherwise no problem. On Durcah wind greets me, increasing to the top. Base got harder, but no crampons needed.
On descent met companion below summit from Luče direction too and we agreed to meet at hut then descend together. From top to hut met some more hikers heading up. Snow had softened a bit by then. Waited at hut for friend, then pleasant pace down to valley.

Veliki Rogatec (sleeping monk) has just awakened.

First real steep section on the logging trail below the pasture.

The wind strengthened and started carrying fog from the valley.

I also used the nice Saturday morning for Raduha from Luče. Path starts with narrow ridge lined with blooming heather and nice view to Luče, don't remember such beautiful start! Scenic hayfields following were great, less enthusiastic about several km of forest roads nasmeh

Sun accompanied whole ascent shining over dramatic valley fogs. Snow started about half hour below Koča na Loki and I thank the trio who broke trail to top. On Durcah wind started blowing and to summit it only increased, views not as nice as on way up. On return fog started below Durce and persisted much of path, but no matter. To hut on soft snow express, then chatted a bit with Zokipoki and suddenly Luče were here. On way home detoured through Mozirje and to great joy pastry Mango was open and got ice cream I'd craved all way. Great day!

I yesterday after long time didn't start from Luče but from farm Radušnik. That's how we arranged with Akcija, and marked the cancelled Arničev pohod our own way, which has longest tradition here. Road to start dry, trail already white at beginning. Before closed Koča na Loki short break, then plunged into snow which was much more here. Just before me two hikers reached top, so nice to follow their steps. Perfect blue till ten, then grey coming slowly, but didn't hinder views, wind not too much. Later at least 20 more reached top, some on skis.
Sadly pics are again 'phone' ones.

Road is snowy and impassable, on path of course snow too, but trodden though softens considerably in afternoon

Raduha via Grohata (15.05.21) From Rogovilc to the hut the path is without features. Snow starts from that nice northern postojanka onwards. Winter gear was not needed in such snow at least today, otherwise we would have turned back. You must know the path well, lots of snow especially if fog comes during the ascent. It wasn't cold, so we could afford that gear. The path is under snow, except towards the top the cables are mostly out. Snow will last a while, so if you don't know the path, don't rush in. Descent via Arte back, much more trodden than two years ago. Drank beer in the sun on the terrace of one of the inns, it was a quality morning.

43 years ago this was my 1st 2000er, so I reminisced a bit... yeah, many of those really good friends with whom I was up there then are now deceased mrk pogled

Eh, let's leave it, so: Planina Loka, Velika Raduha, Mala R. and back the same way. Path BP. Weather mostly sunny with a pleasant breeze, quite a few hikers.
Road to parking under Pl. Loka OK for slow driving; dry so dusty.

Eh, I still don't know the name of that pretty flower...

...and 2nd summit of Mala R. - I'm still not sure which is the real one :)

Excellent ričet with really good dry sausage - recommended

The mountain is a mountain. "Elements" are eternity, we people change and that multiple times in life. But I wouldn't talk about it anymore now and here, on this forum.
