Shame that everything is being asphalted one after another.

During workdays there will be complete road closure from 7:30 to 18:00 until June 30.

@Kranj...well, once the road is already built...an asphalt road requires much less maintenance, which in the end is even more ecological. Unless of course parking areas are expanded at the expense of a better road.
One of the few serious problems I see is only that there will now be significantly more motorcyclists. They mostly don't like gravel.

I also like that it's asphalt. Triglavska Bistrica trail will now be much more pleasant since some parts of the trail go along the road. I mean no more dust, many cars drove too fast on gravel and fine dust disregarding hikersjezen

Instead of agreement and planning - chaos.
Or not? Was the very (expected) anarchy planned - so that "someone" "justifiably" pulls the final cut and exploits the current facts with the excuse of acting in the public good?

You overestimate public servants' abilities by implying that they can actually plan and execute something like that velik nasmeh

Maybe fewer people when parking is 6 euros.

6 euros is a reasonable price for a location like Vrata.

It was already last weekend, and it was chaos just the same. Until there is a barrier (and slightly higher bus frequency), it will stay like it is.

Today I also took this bus to Aljažev dom and back, it seems during the week all is ok and calm, little road traffic, up and back down the bus arrived earlynasmeh up I went with the last bus at 17:10 from Mojstrana, I was the only passenger on the bus, on the last return bus at 19:30 we were 8. I believe that on weekends there is a crowd, especially on the road up there. Lp

I was there last Tuesday at 5 am - 30th car in Vrata. During the week it's really no big deal. On the way back we met a bus in the steepest climb. A Pole in front of me couldn't reverse up the hill at all, the other 2 of us struggled quite a bit big grin the bus driver was freaking out, what the hell, why doesn't he move. Then a guy from the bus just sat in his car, he'll move it, and almost crashed straight into the bus, it just wouldn't go.

Then the driver told some 3 tourists, foreigners from the bus, to go push the car up the hill and they pushed that car up the hill. Like Pr Hostar.

The only solution would be, if bus transport is being introduced, to ban all other traffic between approx 7.00 and 18.00. With a traffic light for parking occupancy in Vrata until 7.00. If it's already full before, the barrier (!?) should close.
From 7.00 to 18.00 only bus rides, cycling and hiking. This simple solution will probably come soon. But first chaos is created so people realize it can't go on otherwise.

It's modern to create chaos on purpose to convince the sheep that it can't go on otherwise. Vrata needs a minibus, not a tourist bus for German autobahns. But since behind it are the never-full-enough pockets of the Kranjska Gora municipality and a few individuals, that's how it is.

Last week similar experience as Climber91. On the way back I ran into a bus on the climb, I was reversing to make way until a foreigner came behind me who didn't want to move aside. On the road there's barely space for two cars in places and the road should be closed to private vehicles or get smaller buses or vans.

How is the current occupancy of the parking lot in Vrata? Asking for Saturdays or weekends and how is parking in Mojstrana and then bus ride to Vrata on weekends. Is the bus full or is there space? Asking for morning hours, around 6, 7 or 8.
Also interested if you can park in Vrata at that time or if there's no option anymore in those hours?

Yesterday at 6 o'clock there were still some parking spots, but cars behind us were coming almost in a convoy. Much past six I doubt you'll find anything free on weekends. But fairly at the beginning of the valley there's a "traffic light", which shows if there's space or not. If not, you park in Mojstrana and take the bus. Just that at 6 there's none, only at 7.00.

I hope this burlesque calms down after 21.8., until then there's a schedule for the bus. I completely agree there's too much tin in Vrata, despite that their schedule doesn't suit me somehow. Take Triglav via Plemenice as example, in Vrata you're best case at 6.00, before average mountaineer reaches Triglav it's 12.00, for descent to Vrata add another 5 hours, already due to crowds on the ridge, since I'd definitely return to the valley via Prag. So last two rides at 16.00 and 19.30. I can't imagine having to leave home at 4.00 because of the bus and get home at 21.00. GRS also reminds us to be on summits early enough, but at 12.00 in best case it's not that early anymore and starting at peak summer at 6.00 from Vrata is late.

From 4.00 to 21.00 is completely normal timing for Styrians, if everything fits in the mountains and on the road. Not that bad if there's will.
Before 6 o'clock it's hard to start hiking anywhere.
