For additional info on the "closure" I asked directly at the Kranjska Gora municipality. They organize an action that rtvslo described quite misleadingly with an article titled "Due to (too) many cars they will close the gates to Vrata".

Info from the municipality:

On the regime in August weekends briefly:
- traffic flow all 24hrs will proceed unchanged
- we introduce free public transport and parking in Mojstrana as an additional "green" option to the existing regime. Based on last year's promo day, we want to check this year in practice also the responsiveness of visitors (not hikers, who are usually early) to this option.

So obviously restrictions are more aimed at tourists who come to Vrata briefly during the day.

That sounds more reasonable. Thanks for the info.

Almost 5 years since I was in Vrata Valley, so need some info:
-- can I go with personal car close to Aljažev dom? parking price?
-- in August, latest by what time Sat-Sun or extended weekend 15-18.8 recommend arriving to almost surely get free parking spot?
-- how much later can I arrive weekdays, Mon-Fri?
-- September and October assume no parking issues even weekends?

thanks for help.

Parking price is 3.5 € for ∞. You can drive almost to Aljažev dom. Last weekend parking ran out, they even allowed parking directly in front of Aljaž.

Short family walk under Stena. True from peaks it looks so far and mighty, but from time to time doesn't hurt to inhale a pinch of awed ground-level humility. nasmeh

Heading to Triglavska Bistrica path. Interested in path length and one-way transport option. Parking probably possible at Koča pri Peričniku?

Here is some info on the path, including length. Maybe best to park in Mojstrana at the end of the village, around where it goes to Vrtaška planina and Sleme, and walk along the Triglavska Bistrica Path to Vrata. Back with free transport.

Length is about 1h - 1h 15min easy walking. Parking possible if there's space; parking fee I think 2€ per hour although I'm not sure. From Mojstrana via Triglavska Bistrica path good 2h to Vrata.

Hello!
Wondering if anyone knows conditions on Rudno polje - Miškovec parking road, what state it's in and if passable with "normal" car.

Thanks and safe travels!

Yesterday first time on Triglavska Bistrica path to Aljažev dom and a bit further. Quite varied water crossings, so a bit before parking through soaked terrain back to road. Amazed by peaceful quiet from hut onwards, only few skiers and walkers heard. Just wind whistle pulling gently through valley and snow waterfall over Stenar wall.

Return only by road, time flies passing turnoffs to Za Cmirom valley, bivouac II, Kukova špica, Škrnatarica etc., memories of hikes there. End under Peričnik, feet soaking unavoidablenasmeh.

Road to Vrata will get asphalt!

Hope no loud motorbikers come with it. I wish them experiences and fun, but annoying to hear their howling and roaring from e.g. peaks around Vršiška road.
