20.12.2022. Many teachings and ideologies teach us how man is imperfect. But life does not teach that. For birds there is a big difference if they are in a cage or under open sky. True bird singing starts only in freedom. And with man it's the same.(A. GRABAR) The trail was visible. You can reach the ramp by vehicle. Just park as far to the end of the road as possible because they haul wood. At least on Tuesday it was so. So you don't disturb anyone. The path ahead known to us in snow. Also the trail from Sunday was nicely visible. We knew it would cloud over in the afternoon. But surprisingly it wasn't. Only to the south clouds were drifting. Here beautiful views. We used winter gear higher on the path because snow was frozen. And left poles there. Since we returned the same path. Only we didn't know something and it wasn't forecasted that we would have strong wind from the sign to the top. We decided not to go along the ridge but below the ridge to the top. Had to watch the holes there. At top we didn't stay long because wind didn't subside. Probably erased tracks from Matej who went there Sunday. We descended the ascent path. And sighed with relief when we were on the path in no-wind lower where thermometer showed 10 degrees. At top minus four. And below on ascent minus two. Wasn't even too cold. Didn't meet anyone. On descent we looked at old linden in Rut. Really magnificent.

in the afternoon on the descent it was no longer like that.

here you replace crampons and poles with an ice axe.

but no problems, although there is a slope.

where the Bohinj people have opened all windows.

we two go under the ridge because of the strong wind.

if it were calm it would be a different story.

when you at least somewhat escape the wind.

here we have a bite. You're not even hungry.

Has anyone gone to Rodica recently? Still possible from Bohinj side with touring skis up?

If pic from path to Vogar helps any. Roughly I'd say at least to planina Suha gotta carry gear. Hope helps..

Rodica yesterday fifth April. From Rutarski gozd.

only towards the sea it was less visible.

there is quite some bare ground in between.

Skiers are heading towards the summit from the direction of Vogla.

not known to me. You can see a zigzag path.

Spring classic of touring skiing from Rodica was excellent. To Kratke plaze we ascended with ski gear and skied on hard frozen snow to planina Suha, then with crampons up Žleb and through still well snowed valleys and slopes avoiding bare areas ascended to the top of Rodica. Views wonderful, skiing even better. We returned over Visoki Orlov rob and skied down empty pistes back to planina Prvi Vogel. More at: https://www.gore-ljudje.si/Kategorije/Novosti/rodica-24

This time to Rodica from the Primorska side, from Rutarski gozd. Parked at the parking lot before the barrier, some drive even higher where there used to be a parking lot. The southern approach thrilled us and we got new ideas for wandering around here. Met a few, more on return. Path without features, but now everything in bloom. Buttercups, pasque flowers, alpine snowbells, white hairy flowers, edelweiss, lots of unknown little flowers... and huge number of gentians in the last third. Real botanical paradise.
Wonderful views all around from the top. Return same way. Safe and happy to all. nasmeh

Road in Rutarski gozd newly upgraded, up the marked path. Warm all the way to the top in short sleeves.

No, yesterday 28.12.2023 we didn't have such nice colors as Matej did a few days ago. Gray prevailed. Wind was constant companion all the way. In the last part from the sign it strengthened more. Thermometer showed -4 degrees at top. Didn't stay long. Needed winter gear higher up. Snow was frozen. Possible to reach top on summer path. Descended to Grant village via ascent path. Still a bit different but really nice tour. 12 km and 1270m gain.
