Rodica

14.11.2011 we started from Javorja "pri muldi" across Suha planina and at a slightly bigger mound turned left into some gully (path straight or right goes to sedlo Suha), when the path flattens turned sharply left onto pathless ridge of Mala Rodica. When above Mala Rodica, continued along ridge to summit. At summit light breeze, after hour rest descended to Mala Rodica, from it across Lepa Suha along ridge to Šija. At Šija rest again and descent to Visoki Orlov rob and to single seater. Then bit more drop on scree to some track there instinctively felt need to find path back to Suha planina. Since couldn't find path start had no choice but to turn right downhill steep pathless with overgrown dwarf pine clumps hoping to find path. After short search found it. Even realized it was once well marked and even now not maintained visible marks or red lines in places. Descended bit above hut on Suha planina then short drop to our start "pri muldi" wink

@Parkeljc, my friend on some this year's tour when we got a bit lost said - "unknown path with known goal", it seemed a quite interesting statement and I laughed heartily at itbig grin.
We two also went up and of course found the path, it happens, of course one needs to be careful, good luck onwards, lpsmile
And, the pics are nice toosmile

Yesterday on Rodica, the day was, as we usually say - a pure ten velik nasmeh
We drove a bit further from the village Rut, had our morning coffee and from the first signpost for Rodica headed upwards. It is possible to drive higher by car, but we decided to do it that way.
Sunshine and a pleasant, fresh morning accompanied us the whole time. The path is nice, wide, well-marked, practically no snow, just a small patch on the top, none on the path, later the path narrows a bit, but it is well-maintained all the way to the top.
Few visitors yesterday, sunshine and three ladies who were singing heartily, why not, they all awaited us on the top nasmeh At the views our hearts played and in such moments one can only be happy to be here, to live and that everything is fine with him, as we need nothing else, life is very simple nasmeh
We stayed quite a long time on the top, looked around the surroundings with binoculars, took some photos and enjoyed these beauties.
We spent a nice, beautiful day and I wish for more of them, many such velik nasmeh
I warmly recommend this tour to you, and happy trails to all nasmeh

Beautiful days, beautiful hikes. Everyone who loves mountains heads to them these days, as the views offer charms you never experience in the valley. And so the decision fell to visit Rodica, which is close to us, and so we drive through Soča valley, continue to Baška grapa and in Koritnica village turn left towards Rut, which lies on the southern slope of Rodica. For those who have never been to Rodica, I recommend seeing the centuries-old linden tree in Rut, next to it the parish church of St. Lambert, standing in the middle of the village. We planned to photograph (the linden) but unfortunately due to a small heartwarming incident we didn't manage on the way back. With quick and effective help, I'll thank here the firefighter from Rut (Milan) and Jože from Podbrd. As said, to here on asphalt road, from Rut about 2 km on gravel path. We didn't drive to the barrier (higher on road about 1.5 km), but continued on foot. The path is nice, well marked. Sun rays accompanied us to the top of Rodica in beautiful fresh morning. The higher we were, the better the views. At the top beautiful, Triglav in the palm, view towards Golica, Črna prst, Porezen, Krn, Matajur. Below us Bohinj lake, Vogel ski slope, Rut, Grant, Kneške ravne, view towards Lom and Kuk pastures. You know not everything can be described, you have to go up and experience. After a few hours of lingering it was time to say goodbye to Rodica, and the choughs that flew over us all the time of our visit. And hop path under feet, back where we came from.

I'll add our path that took us from Javor. At the beginning there was a bit of disagreement with the description, later we found the marks and off through the forest to pl. Suha where it starts opening towards Karavanke and Julijci. Fresh morning forces moderate walking and observing nature that changes every few meters, divine views...At the saddle sun rays greet us. Along the ridge you see all around, godlike views...When we arrive at Rodica a nice Primorska couple greets us with a shot of schnapps, we chat with them. They are good connoisseurs of the area and locals who live there. A bit lower (in calm) we dawdle, enjoy the sun and off to the valley..Oh what a beeeautiful day behind usnasmeh

Yesterday on Rodica. After checking the forum and a long-held wish, I decided. In the valley frosty and cold, but when you reach the starting point warm at heart, and outside no need to overdress. Start walking and views open nicer and nicernasmehSun nicely warms, only on the ridge a bit windy. Really unique day!nasmeh

We two somehow manage even during the week to pop a bit to the sun (last Friday to Pršivec), our "little dolls" though haven't seen the sun for almost two weeks zadrega…so decision for today was clear…somewhere to the heights…And we turned to Bohinj area again, this time to Rodica…Above planina Suha we already at first small hillock turned off the marked path (unintentionally much earlier than per description on these pages), so description and our "path" somehow didn't "match"…but direction is clear, path sometimes disappears but reappears, so practically can't miss…We were just late enough that "the early ones" already left the top, "the late ones" were just arriving and so we enjoyed the top for about an hour completely alone… in boundless 360-degree views nasmeh….We descended on marked path back to start (Javorje)…The path for this time and temps maybe a bit too shady, but sunny summit slopes and beautiful views outweigh… nasmeh
P.S. Sun and fresh mountain air do wonders…by the way we almost "cured" another runny nose mežikanje
