Yesterday with PD Škofja Loka's Thursday retirees group to Sabotin via the so-called Southern path. There were enough of us for two buses. The buses dropped us off almost in front of the stairs from where the quite steep rocky path starts past the known inscription, which is well visible from the valley to the main Sabotin ridge. First stop at the well-preserved ruins of the St. Valentin chapel. Now the path goes along the rocky ridge by the border white stones. We hike this ridge for about half an hour until we descend to the left towards the house on Sabotin. Today it was opened specially for us, otherwise it is open at this time from Friday to Sunday. Here we saw the WWI war museum and went on a guided tour of the caverns from both sides. It costs only two euros. Back there was a rather long hike to the valley to the village of Vrhovlje.

Today on Sabotin beautiful sun. Cavern tour highly recommended. Lasts 2 hours, but very interesting!

Morning on Sabotin. Ascent via the northern path, descent via the southern path. Windy on the ridge, the path otherwise unremarkable. More here:

Today a nice loop path on Sabotin. Up the northern path, down the southern path. It was a nice sunny day offering nice views. Path unremarkable. Nice regards.

Sabotin on Friday.........
Windy and lonely, but sunny.
First went to St. Valentin chapel, then ridge to summit and back same path.
Very pleasant and relaxing, nature on this mountain always inspires and allows gathering positive energies.
Next Sunday association from lower village Štmaver organizes hike and holy mass at chapel too.

Today my wife and I used the warm November day to visit Sabotin. Dressed in warm autumn colors, it lured quite a few of us to its ridge, where we nicely combined pleasant with useful velik nasmehnasmeh

Wandering around Sabotin is pleasant. But it's already quite hot. Ascent from the north side, past caverns and through the military tunnel. Descent from the south, past the Tito inscription. nasmehvelik nasmeh

Nice trip above Solkan or thereabouts. Up the north side, along the ridge over the summit to Valentin and down from there. Sunny and warm day, beautiful views to the mountains and none to the sea, where the places were in stubborn fog all day or low clouds.

Afternoon visit to Sabotin. From Solkan up the south path to the summit and on to the hut. Nice sunny afternoon with moderate wind on top. Return the way up.

Yesterday I missed by just half an hour a close encounter with a huuuuge and big rock that rolled some 150 meters from the road bridge onto the cycle path towards Plave, which leads to the base of the north path to Sabotin.
The police already at the scene didn't let me pass and explained the cycle path will be closed indefinitely.
There is a possibility to cross the Soča river over the railway bridge, but I don't know if it's allowed and what the possible fine might be. Does anyone know the answer?

I've seen individuals multiple times, and I've gone there myself even though it's forbidden. Crossing there isn't the best idea, since over the main arch it's more than wide enough; both access viaducts are very narrow.

Walking on the railway track is forbidden, I don't know what the fine is.
