I fully agree with mosovnik. What annoys me more than the total ignorance of the tour is mainly that some don't even bother to search the net for already published stuff, open new thread, then admin has to move it too. And they expect a full answer when all is already described. Anyway, from Kriški Podi almost to Križ, then a long way down to below Dolkova Špica, ascent over Dolkova Škrbina and deep descent to the basin under Škrlatica. There, do not go up the screes, but much easier to the right up the rocks. The summit ascent is already described. Gear: yes, mountaineering gear, what else.

Pretty impudent reply to people who tried to help you - now and for future tours.

With Janez not the earliest, so Vrata parking already quite full, park at lower lot. Then head to Škrlatica. Fog over Vrata causes moisture especially on forehead, under bivouac IV clears. Blue sky and peaks, Stenar, on the other side Cmir, Begunjski Vrh, Triglav. Overtaking hikers as if a joke, even in wall no holdup. About an hour early at top, but nice day easy to wait. Meet mostly TK Gora folks, this time live. Around noon to valley, before most gaze slips to where it stands and will remain, Aljažev Tower of course. No snow on path, some sliding anyway, protections OK, Škrlatica always our queen.

How pleasant warmth radiates from the picture. You can feel that heartfelt, unconditional friendship reigns among you. If everything were like that, the world would be much nicer. Bravo to our leaders!

Does anyone know the conditions on the path from Kriški Podi via Križ and Dolkova Špica to Škrlatica? Is there still any snow, winter gear needed? Descent back to Vrata probably not problematic. Thank you kindly and safe hiking steps!

Completely without issues. Just happily on the way, nice weather forecast.

I was yesterday on Škrlatica - finally - . Started in the morning from Vrata and already climbing steeply. Already in the morning mists covered the view to the valley and peaks. Path OK, summit clear and in the sun. When I was returning, there were lots on the path (of course improperly equipped and late ascending) "hikers". It was a great trip for me

Path takes about 6 hours. If enough stamina jump also to Dolkova Špica (20 min) - at top of Rdeča Škrbina turn left - junction not marked. Have enough fluids with you, sun can scorch on path. Križ only 10 min off path. Aloha

Gigi, hello. The basic is a harness that should be two-part (also chest part), then via ferrata set, helmet, I recommend gloves because of the cable.

For Škrlatica the via ferrata set helps little. There are few cables, therefore lots of rock scrambling and pegs. (holds more than enough)

"jjasmin", we both needed four and a half hours from the top of Škrlatica to Pogačnik past Dolkova špica and Križ. For liquid it will hold.

Thanks to both for the information and tips, which help me quite a bit in planning the tour.
