Access to the starting point: ..... Recently, the road to the V Koncu parking lot is closed to public traffic, so we have to park at the parking lot by the Dom v Kamniška Bistrica. This extends the route by about 45 minutes to 1 hour. So this no longer applies?

As far as I know, the road is still closed to public traffic, but it is drivable in a technical sense - with all possible consequences ...

You can drive to the end since everyone drives there, I think there won't be any problems, so you save that hour

Yes, gams44, I forgot to add that, the consequences (yet) haven't happened to me, otherwise "don't touch the lion while it's sleeping"

As long as no sign for a driving ban under binding road regulations is posted, until then you can drive there without consequences of an offense. Abroad you can go by car, if there is of course a road, up to 2000 m and more; here we make an elephant out of a fly, even for MTB trails they haven't managed to agree and make a route plan in two years, which causes big losses of such tourists here, of which there are plenty in Europe.

What are the conditions for the path Ravenska Kočna - Skuta (over Dolgi hrbet)? Thanks for the answer.

The conditions are dry, except maybe from Češka towards Mlinarsko sedlo (1 snowfield, but I doubt it's still there). Tone Krničar can tell you firsthand: 040673449 (Češka hut), he hikes this route almost every day.

So, if I understand correctly - Dolgi hrbet is dry?

Best to call Tone's number above and ask, I doubt the scree field is dry yet, because once I crossed a snowfield there uphill in summertime.

Path to Skuta OK, called the previously mentioned phone today and the lady said that I probably won't need winter gear.

Does anyone perhaps know if winter gear is still needed for the path to Skuta through Turski žleb?

Only below Skuta there are still two snowfields which I crossed with ice axe preventively. Otherwise doable without.....just caution never hurts. Was on Skuta 13.7. Could be different now. Turski žleb without issues

Thanks for reply, sergejjj. How about return to hut below Rinka waterfall via Kamniško sedlo? Is that path much longer? Descent back through the gully doesn't appeal much...

Path via Kamniško sedlo isn't much easier either if Turski žleb doesn't appeal. Time-wise the tour extends by 2-3 hours. Good luck!

It extends quite a bit (as Otiv said) and it's still quite crumbly.

If you want a shorter route, then the variant is only to start from Kamnik (at the end) over Žmavčarje, that's the closest to Skuta. lp

Hmm... I think I'll move this tour more towards the end of the season, when I'll have a bit more fitness and experience. I'm actually just at the beginning of my mountaineering path. Thanks for the information.
