Nice ascent, nice photos and I agree with the comment about the bivouac.

On Saturday I hoped at least for fog without rain, got sun instead! Path to Grintovec is dry. Continued to Mlinarsko sedlo. Ridge of Dolgi hrbet is dry. Before Skuta still need snow, but no winter gear needed. On descent from Skuta it's a different story. Upper part dry, but below definitely crampons and ice axe needed. Snow will stay a while. Turska gora normally passable, likewise to Kotličevi. There also snow for some time, at least to early July. Crampons highly recommended, ice axe mandatory. Path to Brana is dry, but follow winter route (cairns placed). Summer path still well covered before the roof with snow. Traverse best on lower path which is dry. Nice circular route from one saddle to another.

How are the conditions on the path between bivouac below Skuta and bivouac below Grintovec (over small and large Pode and over the ridge)?
Has anyone been walking there recently? nasmeh

No entrance fees anywhere so just boldly go ahead, they only check if you have equipmentmežikanje

Yesterday I started in Bistrica via Žmavčarje to Skuta, continued to Dolgi Hrbet and on to Grintovec. From Grintovec back to Mlinarsko sedlo and descent via Gamsov Skret back to start. Path without special features, maybe a small snowfield under Skuta where winter gear is used.

How is it with that snowfield, is winter gear still needed? Ridge part of the path possible without?

Yesterday hiked the path from Bistrica via Žmavčarje to Skuta, Štruca and then past bivouac Pavel Kemperl to Kokrško sedlo and back to valley. There are still quite a few snowfields on the path but during the day they soften enough to be generally passable without crampons. Maybe just highlight the entry to the traverse (under Skuta) where some care is needed when crossing or avoiding snowfields. Otherwise once you reach the first protections on the traverse no more snow problems to the top or actually no snow to the top at all anymore.

09.07.2016. Skuta
Start at Koča ob slapu Rinka, via Okrešelj and through Turski žleb (snow only one meter at entrance to climbing part) and then to Skuta. Exceptional thing! Now it's my highest peak I've summited solo.
As for conditions at the entrance to Skuta rock there are some snowfields but snow is very soft and mushy and there are steps made and no problem...
Bigger problem is the broken cable in Turski žleb, needs quite some acrobatics to climb that part...

15.7.2016 Skuta without winter gear not reachable, before entrance to climbing part, due to low temperatures and wind snow was very hard (plate), couldn't make safe steps, couldn't bypass it, so turned around and visited Turska gora.
But caught incredible sunrise in Turski žleb so no regrets.
Impossible access to the climbing part without winter equipment.1
View from afar.2
Turski žleb sunrise, incredible, speechless, at first I thought the rocks were red.3

@MatejO, is this approach from Kokrško sedlo or from there on when you 'turn off' from path to Grintovec? Planning Skuta or Štruca tomorrow, curious. Regards

Anyone hiked from Malih podov to Skuta after Matej? So is the snowfield before entrance still "annoying" or has sun these days made it more "passable" - speaking of visit without winter gear. Thanks

Was there yesterday around 13.30 and snow midday was quite soft and went right over it. It has apparently melted so much that it's possible to bypass.

Yesterday,23.7.,we did the tour Logarska dolina-Okrešelj-Turski žleb-Skuta, we returned Turska gora- Kotliči-Kamniško sedlo and back to the valley. Awesome tour, long, beautiful, weather excellent, company pleasant, positive. Snowfields before entering the Skuta wall are not obstacles. Bigger nuisance for some is the torn cable in Turski žleb, now replaced by climbing rope. It would be sensible to maintain the cable.

Nice, but they still haven't fixed that cable that's torn for more than a year. Back then we were returning from Rink over the gully and that cable was replaced with rope. Well, interesting, obviously this is not an important matter for repair on the path through the gully.
It would be time for the society responsible for this path to go repair it.

jprim

everything is obvious. someone will fix it anyway, we can even curse him because he hasn't yet?
what have you done so it gets fixed?
how many hours of volunteering have you put in the mountains?

as far as I'm concerned, even if they discontinue maintenance of all paths.

already membership fee is paid by 90% of people in my opinion because of insurance or/and because it pays off for them at overnight stays.

how many pay even though they don't use any benefits? how many invest their time, work, material...?

but everyone wants super maintained paths, super huts, low prices...in short...

Zek: if the path is in the traverse and it says secured path; then it's obvious that the maintainer maintains the path. When "jprim" is tasked with path repair, then take it out on her. No one pulled your tongue, so keep it under control.angry
