Hey,
sorry for my english, but I'm with it much more comfortable than with slovenian  It's a bit unexpected message, but I'm thinking about it and here I don't found answer: I had accident 8.06.2019 on Skuta a bit above bivak pod Skuto and I lost my axe. Red one. Maybe someone found it? I'm asking just because of interest

Hi. Has anyone gone recently on the path over Žmavčarje and past the bivouac to Skuta? Just wondering if winter gear is still needed? Thanks for help and safe steps in the mountains.

Straight ahead north towards Rink, but watch out, first you'll hit a path leading to Slemen, a bit further you'll be on the right one. Keep slightly to the left.

is the path from Cojzova koča to Skuta over Mala vrata (and then to the junction for Rinke) clear of snow?

Hi, on Saturday 4.7. I finally went to Skuta. For ascent I chose pathless terrain over Žmavčarje, to the valley I returned over Kokrsko sedlo. Both paths are normally passable without winter gear. Protections are in excellent condition. For easier idea about the path I made a short video, which is at this link: Skuta (2532 m), 4.7.2020
Hope it helps someone in planning ascent to Skuta.

Polh, at least 4 slept in the bivouac under Skuta that night, as I chatted with them a bit. For the bivouac under Grintovec I really don't know.

Yesterday after work I headed to the bivouac under Skuta and later continued to the summit. Snow patches start at Mali Podi, at the entry to the climbing section there's much more snow. In places it sank to the knees or more - after reaching the ridge it's different with less snow.
I returned to the bivouac under Grintovec, where I bivouacked per original plan (late start). Snow is tricky in spots but generally no big trouble. Surprised by lots of chamois, mostly young - counted over 40 to the bivouac.
On the whole tour no souls met besides chamois, except a few who came via Gamsov Skret today. On drive back to Kamniška Bistrica (from freight cableway) counted 100+ cars, no solitude today. If forecasters are right, one of the last mostly snow-free high mountain days, plus nice weather reason for rush..
