Thanks G.G., we checked on 23.05. We had a small problem only at the crossroads by the cultural home Hvatini, where it is not marked that you need to turn right from the Ankaran direction. Otherwise no issue because IT'S OVER NOW!!!!

Since DARS said today that the bora around Nanos is 111 km/h, there was a change of plan...
In Podgorje hardly any snow, but with altitude the situation quickly improves . On the clearing already good 30 cm. Track disappears often due to bora.
At the end the sun showed up, thoughts cleared by the bora.

Does anyone maybe know if the path from Prešnica to Slavnik is icy? On Sunday I'd go up, because supposedly nice weather. Thanks and best regards

snow has obviously really melted a lot...
especially above Snežnik I'm surprised.
regarding ice there shouldn't be a problem.
maybe just on some short section, but nothing serious since there's almost no snow!

Wonderful photos, you've made me really crave it, I haven't been to Slavnik either, thanks for the idea for some Saturday or Sunday trip to Brkine or the hinterland of Primorska

Last week in Primorske novice it was published that we got new record holders by number of ascents to Slavnik.
1. Orlando Nemec (74) from Sv. Anton - 507 ascents
and among women:
1. Jožica Trost from Rodik - 308 ascents
 Congratulations to the top ranked.
So record holders in 2010 were ->
Among men:
Orlando Nemec - 507, Nevjo Ojo - 269, Feliks Bratina - 183, Alan Rupnik - 157, Danilo Ivančič and Damir Zec - 132
among women:
Jožica Trost - 308, Natalija Gulič - 204, Špela Prodan - 163, Darja Šale - 127, Jadranka (no surname in the book) - 125.
Me - 3 or 4, I don't remember anymore

Today with wife hopped to Slavnik, because they said weekend would be bad. It was nice and hot - we weren't early birds, few visitors so peace and quiet. Attaching some pics, Best, Borut and Tanja.

Today I decided to go take a look at the "snežniki" (as Valvasor would say) from Slavnik. First at home I check what temperature it says (Koper 14°C). The portal approximation says -1°C on Slavnik. Already after the first bend from Ankaran snow glistened on the top. On the southern slope of Slavnik spring is greening already.
Soon clouds started coming from the north on clear sky, but still the view from the top was good. When the sun hid behind clouds and a little wind blew, it immediately let know that the approximation hit the temperature on top again well.
P.S: view of snežniki but due to cloudiness wasn't too clear.

Given the rather bad weather forecast, today we decide to visit the Primorska region, so we decide to go to Slavnik. We started from Prešnica. The path is super, easy, just right to stretch a bit. The day, as befits the first holiday day, bathed in sunshine, which was occasionally covered by dark clouds. It was a wonderful day.

After visiting mom in the home in Gradišče above Prvačina, a walk to Slavnik. Just above Prešnica a burnt area in the forest along the path above the railway track surprises me. Probably everything will green up in spring anyway. Path to the top pleasant, autumn weather, cold with bora, remnants of snow here and there along the path. View not the best. Cyclists still active. Recommend as an autumn walk to the hill without snow.

Today we said good day to Primorska and climbed to Slavnik. On the steep path full of stones, which sometimes are even replaced by leaves. Although on top it was a bit windy, the sun drove many hikers up. Some cycled up, others walked. No rožic today, so my eye was teary. View from the sea, to the other side of the horizon, where Očak was visible, loved by every mountaineer.

I confirm that otiv was really on Slavnik. Yesterday on the top we said a word or two about the view and such, if you remember.
