Yes, the snake probably realizes that you're just photographing it and mean no harm to it. It's probably no big deal for it. You also know that nothing bad will happen to you if someone holds a gun to your head without a finger on the trigger... a little excitement is always welcome

The important thing is they'll make an elephant out of a fly again.

I remember my old grandpa put a viper in spirit. They say it was drunk drop by drop diluted in water, worked similarly to Viagra today.

Today on the descent from Kokrško sedlo towards Žagani peči. I asked him if I could photograph him, he said no problem just without "flash".

As far as I see, the ant wanted to be photographed too.

I think we hikers aren't that disturbingly bad after all. How interesting it is to sit near the hole and observe how they observe you and bask in the sun until it's too hot. I feel I disturb them as much as they disturb me, nothing

A few days ago I stumbled upon a website collecting data on snakes in Slovenia for a new book, of which you can also be part CLICK

Hello! As a snake lover, what’s the difference between a nose-horned viper bite and an adder bite? thanks

| korl24. 06. 2013 15:27:14 |
In short: if the nose-horned viper stings you you're screwed, if the adder then in the ass*, because it's just an SH term for the same sort. Very likely a bigger venom dose on Herzegovinian karst because of hotter climate

Jany1980 I think you have guaranteed helicopter transport in such case. And another nice viper specimen, fast too when it rushed past me into first bush. Real beauties on that mountain - but won't tell where!

Tell where you saw it so we can be more careful, we have kids with us. No need for secret. Lp!

@Gore123, impossible answer you're asking for. Even in traffic you don't know place and time of possible accident.

NejcR in the picture there are three snakes, one moved its head behind the upper one. Gore123 I think there's no need to post the viper location, it's usually close to home but you don't always see it. Čarli if he doesn't make too much panic there won't be anything with the helicopter, last year viper bit me and I was on sick leave for next six days 11 hours each and I'm still alive.
