Thanks again, @Mcgiver. Gladly describe every nice tour and add pics with descs. But some peak you've done many times from all sides, recognize from neighbors, slowly 'gets under skin' Correction penultimate sentence first para (can't edit orig) One of them was Jaka, forum member too. (oops )

Martuljek peaks are really among the most beautiful, pathless and less visited. Even in summer there's no mass visitation here.

Thanks, Ante. When my fingers aren't cold and visibility is good, with a fairly good camera all conditions are met for decent shots.

Hey, I'm interested if anyone has been to Spik in the last week or what the conditions are like, is there still a lot of snow up there? We'd like to go next weekend, I've been once around this time and it was possible to bypass some snow...

According to a post in one of the hiking groups on FB (13. 6.) - there's still quite some snow in Kačji graben, some also on the ridge from Lipnica to Spik, the author recommends winter gear.

I was up there on 13.6.2020. The path past the hut in Krnica to the summit is completely dry. From Lipnica to the last ascent, the marked path goes above the snowfield. I descended via Kačji graben and winter gear was mandatory, because the risk of slipping was quite high, and the snowfield reaches the first rock jump.

How is the path through Kačji graben? Is it dry if I decide for that route tomorrow?

As far as I saw on Strava, Luka Kovačič ran to Spik today, try to find the answer from him

Even if there are snowfields, some "skip over" them, run across them, others don't. It's pretty hard to advise someone about this Depends on the difficulty, slope...

I went on Saturday 20.6. down via Kačji greben. Below the snowfields from left and right meet. I crossed the snowfield on the right side ca 5m, snow was soft so I made steps without problem. Probably not that wide now.

Hi, haven't been to Spik yet, which route do you recommend? I have high altitude experience. Thanks!

Of course there are only three routes to Spik. First is mountaineering, that one's out , second past the hut in Krnica (my personal favorite) and third through Kačji graben. If you go through Kačji graben you'll have to cross quite some pretty nasty scree, that's why I always prefer down via Kačji graben, but it's each person's thing, which you can read in previous comments. If you already have high mountain experience none will be too hard for you. Regards and safe steps

I don't agree with the predecessors. Descent through Kačji graben is enjoyable only the upper 200 meters of elevation, from there follows 1000 meters of elevation of suffering and cursing. I recommend Lipnica up and down.
