Thanks for the kind response and encouraging replies. I've been to Planina Pecol already, which is wonderful, as are the mountains around it. So I decided to return and after checking the forum I was tempted to head to Špik Hude police. I think it won't be long before I climb itmežikanje. Best to all mountain loversnasmeh!

@rokovnjacica.. go to mountains as much as possible, gradually raise path difficulty.. when you'll "train" a bit ..after a year or two you'll just smile where you used to "fear" ..of course not meaning you'll be totally "indifferent" to depth, but raise your confidence threshold a lot..

Something has already been written once about these problems, maybe find something useful on that page http://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=10001&id=4008&stran=1
Best regards, good luck mežikanje

If someone wants to increase their physical strength, they go to the gym and train, strength increases. If you want to get rid of vertigo, you have to train your brain. You train it by exposing it to precipices. The brain will start raising the limit when it starts reacting with vertigo, higher and higher. Precipices suddenly won't be precipices anymore, but just smaller or larger steepness.

For endurance sports on long hiking times fitness unfortunately doesn't come into play.Fitness only allows training of condition for using current raw full power (lifting loads etc), the rest only triathlons, mountain hiking, climbing etc.Muscles also don't form correctly because there's no simultaneous uniform aerobic and anaerobic loading (stretching and contracting of muscles) which Bruce Lee himself found out and trained muscle power on proper arm and leg extension, without excessive weights, but just strikes into some object or air exercise.Such training system is also more natural, you gain strike speed. It is known that force is mass + speed, which the latter we don't gain in fitness, only reduce.

I gave fitness just as an example how strength increases and not as training for mountains. With that I wanted with the example to say that training is needed for losing vertigo, just like training is needed for increasing strength or endurance.

This is how it looks, nothing useful on TKG.
In the middle Škrbina nad Cijanerico, to the right Špik Hude police.1
In the lower part of the path above koča Brazza there was an avalanche, it is not ruled out that more might come down given the high daily temperatures.2

In the oval ridge of Prestreljeniški vršič look ahead across to Hudi vršič in the distance. Not completely bare yet, but quite a bit.

Taken today from Pecol. Špik Hude police is dry except for two snow patches below the summit, for ascent to Montaž conditions in the lower and middle part are still wintery.

Yesterday from Pecol to hut Brazza, then abandoned direct path to notch above Tratica, from there Ceria-Merlone path below Špik Hude police to summit. Direct path dry except debris under "memorial plaque", need hands a bit at start. About half Ceria-Merlone between notch and branch to A.E. Leva under firm superficially softened snow. Last summit part partly snowy, also two snowfields lower to Pecol.

the direct path is also the shortest approach to Vuerich's bivouac on Nos2

Can someone tell if the road from Lago del Predil to Sella Nevea is open? We drove past recently, saw signs road closed, don't know if partial or full closure?

On June 10 the road was marked with one-way restriction, otherwise normally passable, no workers then.

After descent from Cima Verde via Leva path to Špik Hude police. Path perfectly secured, brand new cables, nice exposed slabs and some grass traverses. Descent to notch well made, all nice stroll. Then up to ŠHP, lots of hikers from Brazza up, real crowd. And pics...
Start of path Leva from the Montaz side ...1
Immediately enter the world of the wonderful ledges of path Leva ....2
One of the last views from the path, as the weather deteriorated ....3
Nicely secured ....4
And exposed...5
The ledges are really narrow in places ...6
The weather has worsened ...7
After about half an hour you reach less steep slopes where the path is not secured ...8
A little climbing ...9
And a bit more on overhanging slabs ...10
Towards Forca del Palone ...11
Descent into the notch ...12
Forca del Palone ...13
Above the notch ...14
View of the notch from the ŠHP side ...15
Up the ladders ...16
And onwards towards ŠHP ... view back on the traversed ....17
ŠHP also has its supervisors ... this one is responsible for the entire Pecol .... 18
We join the path coming from the Brazza hut ....19
Canalone Huda Paliza, one of the longest gullies in the Julian Alps ....20
A few meters below the summit ... unfortunately no more views ....21
Another supervisor .... this one collects the summit toll ....22
People don't bother him at all ...23
To take a souvenir photo and quickly down ...24
Just for a moment the view to Viš opened up ....25
Come past me if you're a tough guy .... I dodged him through the grass ...26
