To Kriški pode 2 hours and then another 1 hour 20 min to the top. Down all together 2.5 hours

One of the windiest days I've experienced in Slovenian mountains happened on Stenar. Ascent mostly on skis, over icy and steep parts needed crampons and ice axe. From the top we skied in very variable conditions...

Interesting to read this ascent and descent report.... In principle, given the strong wind, it all turned out well! Congratulations... for the courage! Unfortunately from the attached link it seems like you skied today. 1.3.2020, when it was raining, snowing in the mountains and probably windy too, but no views... Apparently it was blowing hard over Karavanke on Friday!?
By the way, viewing photos on hribi.net at 800x600 resolution is really archaic, if you compare to the report on Anže's link, where pics are 1500 x 1000, much sharper and viewable. A tip for the admins of the otherwise excellent site is to rather reduce the number of published photos to 5 to 10.

Not precise enough. It was the last day of the last winter month. In Karavanke on Friday wind gusts reached 100 km/h, which would somehow explain the ascent troubles.

On the path past Štirke to Stenarska vratca there is still quite some snow - enough for snow access, or ski touring.

Confirming, Sunday still some snow patches to bypass or cross, but if not icy, easy to go over.

Yesterday with my companion to Stenar. We started the path from Vrata to the bivouac at Ruševje. At the bivouac we turned towards Križ. After a short stop at the summit we descended from Križ to Stenarska vrata and a bit below them continued to Stenar. Like at Križ also at Stenar quite some hikers. After a stop and enjoying the views at the summit we descended to Pogačnikov dom for beer and pijana nevesta. Back to Vrata over Sovatna. Already second weekend in a row in these wonderful areas. Weather was as it should be for this time. Snow on the whole path just right amount, so we slipped a couple of times.

Yesterday to Stenar via east face. At summit 30 cm powder, which decreases with altitude and on exposed spots is windblown to old/hard base.
