Massive G - you don't need a via ferrata harness through Žrelo anywhere at all. Once or twice there's a cable a bit to pull yourself up...otherwise really no panic.
The path is nice and really not exposed at all.

Obviously you haven't gone through Žrelo yet or mixed it up with the path over Škarjev Rob, where there are really only two cables!!! Next time inquire a bit and don't mislead people!!! The path through Žrelo is quite exposed at certain spots, and there are quite a few cables and pegs too!!!

...really didn't mean to mislead...
But I went THROUGH ŽRELO up last Friday October 5th...weather was crap, foggy, on the ridge blowing like...(and I checked the weather forecast exactly for Storžič that morning and it was forecasted clear)
On the way I met 2 Austrians who were really without anything - not even helmets. At the top I meet 4 ladies.
2 went back to Bašeljski preval, 2 down Škarjev rob. It was weird that those two Austrians weren't behind me...I was afraid something happened to them... I go over Šk. rob, overtake those two girls...and...those two Austrians still have their car in front of the Dom...
weird...
but seems they returned safely...since luckily nothing was heard...
Oh yeah: path??? maybe maybe the entrance to the gully is ugly...but EXPOSED EXPOSED it isn't...once you reach the ridge there's no exposure anywhere...
Really didn't want to mislead anyone...
Pantani1 kudos for the criticism, I like those...because I also don't like when some (who are already almost goats) comment their ascents and paths and classify them by their abilities...
I'm a fan of ''safety'' especially when you don't know the person and better 1000x wrong than 1x not.

I join the opinion that through Žrelo you really don't need a via ferrata set... If someone gets the feeling they need it, they should ask if it wouldn't be better to walk easy paths for a while longer.. If I understand the term "two cables" correctly (actually there are many more) then I imagine it as a path suitable also for beginners who are just getting to know secured paths...and this is one of the easiest very difficult paths in Slovenia..

OK, fine no via ferrata set needed, it wasn't about that but about difficulty!!!  But it's like that, everyone sees it their way, but I think accidents in mountains happen just because of such "tough guys"!!!

Despite your arguments it's calm and nice on Storžič. Today I went from Mač over Kališče to the top, then also over Bašeljski vrh and Mali Grintavec to Srednji vrh. Low clouds up to 1200m, higher up high cloudiness. After noon some snow showers. Path nice, dry, no special features; afternoon on descent from Srednji vrh quite slippery.

You're a bit pathetic with this Žrelo already .
It would be nice if this stops now. The path belongs at the very bottom of very difficult paths in Slovenia (if they even put it in that category).
As for safety it's like this: Everyone is responsible for their own safety in the mountains, that's been said many times... That we forum writers are responsible for possible reader accidents is total nonsense.

Today I did the route from Gradišče over Košuta, to Kališče, Bašeljsko sedlo to Storžič.
It's a nice path, especially from Kališče to the top. But yes, it's quite steep and some scrambling is needed.
Today I also got nice views to Kamniške and Julijske Alpe. At the top a snow shower came and it was windy too.
Otherwise the whole path is dry. Due to slip hazard I returned via Planina Javornik, then in the direction of Sv. Lovrenc, where at a certain section the path branches to Gradišče.

If someone wants a realistic picture of a path's difficulty, they should read as many comments about it as possible, not just one. Each person judges the difficulty by their own view and abilities. When you read enough comments on a path, an average emerges that gives a more realistic assessment. If you read a few more comments on the path through Žrelo to Storžič, you conclude it ranks among the easier "very difficult" paths and I agree with urbanček's rating. Still, that doesn't mean it won't really be very difficult for someone.
