Quite a bit has been written about the difficulty to Storžič through Žrelo. My opinion is that the difficulty is mainly that the path is very steep, but not overly exposed.

I'll crack up, whatever happens 
To Storžič you go "through" Žrelo, to Slemenova Špica "through" Grlo.
And here and there one or two cables and quite rough terrain.
So... whoever isn't sure about Žrelo should start at Grlo 
About the chimney some other time

Today I went on one of my favorite paths - through Žrelo to Storžič. The path is super, the rocks weren't wet at all... as if it wasn't November.  In short full enjoyment, uphill I didn't meet a living soul - except a chamois that watched me part of the way from areas inaccessible to me. Views fantastic all around. At the top there were quite a few people, mostly coming over Kališče. Downhill I went over Škarjev rob, which at least in the upper part, due to frozen snow and icy rocks, requires extra caution. I was glad I chose winter boots with better grip.
(If I knew how, I'd add a photo, so you'll have to believe me )

This morning from Mač to Bašeljsko sedlo. Path to Kališče is icy in places, but no problem even without crampons. From Kališče on it's real winter. Some were heading to the top too.

Last Friday when I was up there, the trail was trodden, but on Saturday it snowed quite nicely...
We'll see.

Almost to the top, rain from bottom to end (just below 2000m). Snow soft, almost no new from this week. Wind strong though.

After the race to Kališče, another 2x to Bašeljski vrh and Storžič - up to svedrovca. Conditions good, but since I was in running shoes, I didn't push to the top.

Yesterday again on home mountain. Weather almost fairy-tale, conditions for ascent likewise. Maybe I'd only wish for more snow and lower temperatures.
Since I was carrying two ice axes (you never know where it takes you), I spiced it up a bit. Climbed short but steep gully right of marked path, continued on ridge and approached summit on trampled trail.
