The mountain hut below Storžič is open continuously during the summer season, outside the season only on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Today I made it up via Laško-past Javornik-summit (all on marked paths). At the top of the gully there's a nasty 30-meter traverse of steep snowfield, so I advise against this path for inexperienced walkers. Around 1pm when I passed, it was all soft and footsteps could be made. In the morning maybe different. Detour left on steep grass barely possible.
Back via Dom na Kališču. That path is now completely bare and dry. Just above the forest road to parking, on marked path need some gymnastics around fallen trees. So from partisan hospital down best go on cart track and ditch.
First time on southern Storžič paths and the beautiful southern meadows took my breath away. Really nice paths here.
Due to late start expected weather crap, but it held great, so back in harmony with my nickname. Nice breeze too, not too hot.
Among natural beauties also tasty coffee and pleasant waitress at Kališče!

On the path through Žrelo you cross a snowfield approx. 2 x 15 m, and a bit before the exit to the ridge approx. 20 m ascent on soft snow.
It was like that on 21.5.

In the afternoon the weather improved in northern and western Slovenia, so I decide to go somewhere, but where  as I drive somewhere there. Storžič is close, starting points known to me, over Psico I haven't gone yet. I start at Laško above Bašelj past Krničarjeva koča and onwards to planina Velika Poljana, at the saddle then right towards Čez Psico, the ridge was long and nice, weather got a bit "sour", more cloudy but I hoped it would calm down and it did. Along the ridge a bit windy, no sun though around Triglav clearer. The ridge is rocky, some cables. At the top alone, some rest, dinner and weather even better, some sun and especially very little wind. I hurry back to Krničarjeva koča and back to Laško. Storžič is interwoven with paths, some hunting trails too and other possible descents but I stick to the marked ones anyway. The path to Krničarjeva from above is quite a challenge due to the soil and big steps.
