To Triglav?

Print
Ukec30. 10. 2013 08:26:54
Would ask if someone who went up these days reports snow condition on path (via Kredarica or Planika) to Triglav?

Thanks!

Doubt anyone was up in this rain but you can check Kredarica camera, it's a bit sprinkled.

Don't know well hut things so ask someone to explain if overnight at Kredarica hut possible. PD site says closed and meteorologists accommodate you.

Thanks

Possible, no worry. But chance you feel a bit cold.

At Kredarica it's possible to stay overnight and also get a hot meal; meteorologists take care of that. Rooms aren't heated though.

In the colder part of winter it's good to have a light sleeping bag with you for sleeping over; otherwise the blanket is enough too.

jurski, don't they accept them? But I'm wondering if there's some hut at Kredarica? I don't have TV,...jezik

Has anyone gone over Prag in the last few days? What are the conditions like? nasmeh

Over Prag they were walking weeks ago when there was still quite some snow, especially where Tominškova and Prag meet. So I don't see problems now; probably all dry.
From Sunday on winter starts. Until that day you can still walk safely on leaves-dry rocksnasmeh

Today went over Prag to Triglav and back, start just before seven and to Triglav slabs no issues. But there ,,rodeo,,. Because lots of moisture, everything froze overnight. First wanted to turn back, but then figured sun would melt ice later and dry the rock so went on. Such conditions until Kredarica. To the top then ok. Cloudy to Studenec, from there sun. At top, even more at Kredarica quite hot. Descent via winter variant from Kredarica as it was sunlit. Few times hit icy rock but luckily visible, so no problem with careful steps. Descent from Studenec again no issues.
Safe and careful

Since the forecast for the weekend was snow, we decided to quickly head to the mountains Thursday afternoon and Friday morning to Triglav. We slept in the winter room at Vodnikov dom, Friday wonderful day, sunny but a bit windy up there. Not too many people on Triglav, maybe thirty, views wonderful, all the way to Grossglockner and High Tatras. Descended to Dolič, then via Velska dolina back to sleep in the same winter room. On Saturday weather worsening and rain chased us down to the valley and home. But wonderful two days in the mountains, probably the last ones before winter variants kick in. Some pics follow ....
Start from Pokljuka ...1
At Jezerca ....2
Winter room at Vodnikov dom3
View of Triglav in the morning. The day will be exceptionally nice ...4
Vodnikov Dom stands lonely in the hills, closed ...5
Mišelj vrh, Velo Polje, Velska dolina ....6
View of Krma from the path to Planika, VDV in the foreground7
Mišeljski konec, Hribarice and Kanjavec ...8
It was hot ...9
Break on Planika10
View of Planika from the ascent to M. Triglav ....11
The path was completely dry ... until today12
Kredarica - frčoplan in action, meteorologists had a shift change13
View back at the ridge and M. Triglav, some people going up, not alone ...14
A little more and we are up ....15
16
Some people are already up there ....17
We quickly took pictures of ourselves as it was blowing, and quickly down ....18
Škrlatica ...19
Kriški podi, Razor and Prisank20
Jalovec, in the background left Viška group and Montaž ....21
Planika, Tosc and Vodnikov dom ...22
We will descend to Dolič over the notch ...23
Here we go down ...24
And into the notch ...25
In the notch there was some frozen snow, so we had to climb a bit on the walls...26
And this traverse too....27
And down we are... now towards Dolič...28
On the mule track towards Dolič, Kanjavec in the background29
Then we met these three... I don't know who they are??? Mountain pigeons or something???30
And those carrying bikes up - supervisors, do you have a day off???31
Hut at Dolič...32
Then through Velska dolina back to Vodnikov's...33
Velska dolina...34
Little spring... the water is really cold... brrrrr35
Velo polje...36
Malo polje, Jezerski Stog in the background37
Then back to sleep at Vodnikov...38
The next day the weather worsened as forecast, so we went down for tea and borovičec...39
Vodnikov hut and Bohinjska vrata...40
A bunch of chamois on the slopes of Tosca...41
Towards Studorski preval...42
View of Bohinj and Voje valley from Studorski preval. There it was really windy and raining so I didn't take more photos....43
