If you've followed the forums, which I don't doubt, and read about that Red Bull unfortunate-lucky Saturday, you've probably noticed that that day only he stood on top of Triglav. Often up there it doesn't blow, especially not as strong as that Saturday.

redbull probably you didn't survive on Pikič's luck but on your own. And as Lizika wrote you're actually just a virtual hero, in fact a fool. And I don't know if you realize those guys who found you and helped first are exactly those you called couch potatoes and popcorn munchers just a day before. remember that one who asked for gps directions for skiing in those conditions. Really don't know why comments were deleted, because for you they would be instructive. Well take care, you're probably a nice dude anyway

Now I'm asking myself that too, actually the heroes are those who were first with him. What if they hadn't been there.

Hey stop people for God's sake! Hasn't the accident taught you anything? How quickly innocent forum jokes turn into tragedy. I think that heated forum debate those days before the accident was indirectly at least a bit guilty for what happened. I'm almost sure Dejan wouldn't go exactly to Triglav if we hadn't argued here those days before. Heavy ego and desire to prove did its thing. Also no need for him to push to the top (no one else did), but what when he'd fall among "armchair mountaineers" himself, against whom he had so much to say. We all must think a bit what we write here, forum endures a lot but its influence can be much worse! Most hypocritical is that those days when it wasn't known how he'll be, all wished him best and nicest, then as soon as clear he'll be ok, jumped on him: Now he's fine, let's get him! Happened what happened, luckily went through well. Let's pull something from this and behave nicer ahead!

Well I went a couple years ago from Kredarica without backpack. I was just thirsty. And crampons first time on boots and good guide. True it wasn't blowing. Was really nice winter weather, compared to Saturday and Sunday now when we waited in vain for wind to settle.

VanSims weren't you at Kamniško sedlo then, when I was with the group in the hut?

Up to the top it was blowing, however not bothersome, at least until return back to m.triglav there was no noteworthy wind. It might have changed behind ocvinkom, but that's already black picture

primoza - here's a very smart comment! Someone would tell you too, why do you take kids on such demanding hikes - remember the comments when they went alone to Kamniško sedlo? By the way - last year we met at the hut in Kamniška Bistrica. Those two came from Kamniško, I from Grintovec. And I tell you, they seemed very confident like experienced hikers.

Whether it's blowing normally or in gusts makes a big difference, once under the wall of Mali Triglav I turned back because of gusts and went back to the hut then down to the valley to Radovna, the goal was Triglav. Let there be conditions, weather, blue sky but if it's blowing 70-80km/h in gusts it'll be hard to the top. Here's a recording, Kredarica: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-xGG9O54Wk

Hehe...I browsed this forum a bit, I have to say, it seems to me all together a bit childish!!..And one more thing those real alpinists mountaineers don't even post on such forums.

As far as I know, "real" alpinists have their own forums! If you post something here under Alpine ascents, the topic is also posted here: http://www.slo-alp.com/ So it's not such a "childish" forum as you want to portray. Discussions are sometimes really "childish", especially when the weather is bad.

What are the conditions like on Mali Triglav? How does the traverse to the left and then up to the malga look? Has anyone already gone straight up the eastern side? Thanks for info. Safe steps.

The full moon is a special experience in the mountains. On September 28, 2015, it will be an even more special night. There will also be a full moon then, and at 4:47 a.m. a total lunar eclipse of a special kind. All sunrises and sunsets will be projected on the moon at once, coloring it red. The moon will be low on the horizon then, so, great photographers of the forum, it smells like unusual and beautiful photos. Why not view this phenomenon from the summit and then wait for the sunrise? http://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/slovenia/ljubljana?iso=20150928

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has been to Triglav these days, what the conditions are like, would it be pleasant to go up on Thursday? Thanks and best regards
