On the path there's still lots of snow that can cause terrible frostbites! A bird like the rock ptarmigan eats 3/4 of your sandwich at snack and so underfed you can't safely descend to the valley. If you have lots of luck a chamois fucks you casually on the way down! Extreme in the ass.

That's how yesterday's descent of four foreigners from Dolič looked. They helped themselves with poles, seems they didn't have winter gear with them. They lingered quite long and probably pondered where to go on that slope. Luckily it turned out well. Wouldn't go there without ice axe.
it is very steep. This time luck was on their side.1

It just happened that Damjan and I did a loop on Thursday 7.6 from Vrata to Luknja. Then over Plemenice past Lojzetov bivak to Triglav and to Kredarica, where we slept. On Friday we descended via Tominškova, which is almost dry. On the western Triglav plateau there is lots of snow. In Triglav škrbina some snow has cleared since Sunday. Met some groups of foreigners, though it's not yet season. From Kredarica to Triglav is dry like in summer. Yesterday on descent to the turnoff for Tominškova we used ice axe on some steep parts and helped a group of guys who didn't know where to go to Kredarica. Due to snow no visible markers.
Around four in the morning we wave to Luknja.1
Somewhere there were dark clouds.2
At Luknja it was blowing, as usual. We look at the chamois that were already grazing above Luknja.3
Onwards across Plemenice. We'll see how it goes.4
Some snow patches. This one is crossed with an ice axe. We avoided one and went around below the summit of Plemenice.5
On the western Triglav plateau it's a different story. Just snow.6
A short rest. We drink beer and put on crampons.7
The weather changeable. No rain.8
In Bovška škrbina.9
Damjan barely the first time this year. Still he decided to go with me, although he said it's not worth hiking with me because it usually rains then.10
We stay for a while.11
Then we set off along the dry path to Kredarica.12
Two months ago it was still all in snow.13
There it hasn't taken it away yet.14
View of Staničev dom yesterday on descent.15
Crossing snowfield. Heading to the branch for Tominškovo.16
On Tominškovo snowfield. A group of foreign mountaineers crosses it. They go towards Kredarica.17
They are already across.18
Well equipped.19
We two towards the valley.20
It got us a little wet in the wall, so we had to be quite careful because the path was slippery.21
Someone forgot them.22
And for a beer at Aljažev dom.23

Triglav is dry from Planika side and from Kredarica side, winter gear not needed. There is still quite some snow lower down, but mostly passable without winter gear without issues. Exception is snowfield under Kurica, can't go without ice axe.

I myself ran from Stara Fužina to Triglav: https://bojanambrozic.com/2018/06/10/tek-na-triglav-s-stare-fuzine/

Hello,

last week of June Triglav is planned, up Tominšek route and down over Prag. Is the path dry and suitable without winter gear? Is the path harder than route to Prisojnik via Kopiščar route?

Thanks a lot

Snow is melting but probably still remains on slopes to Kredarica. At least 8.6. still lots. And snowfield on Tominšek, if not melted, very dangerous to cross at least without ice axe. If snow hard need crampons too. Don't go without winter gear until snow melts.
This is the only snowfield on Tominškova. Somewhere in the middle of the path.1

No need if you've been on snow before. But still lots of snow from junction to Staničevo towards Kredarica. Nice day

If no ice axe, then don't use crampons. In case of fall/slide you'll stop safer.

Can't imagine going to steep parts without ice axe. E.g. in Bovška škrbina Damjan and I used both on Thursday even though snow was soft. Just due to steepness better grip. Better borrow ice axe than risk.....

I was exactly interested in what the conditions are like from the Krma route. So we went to check how many snow patches are still left, winter gear is not needed from that route. At the top a beautiful sunrise delighted us. So we sat for a whole hour and a half, and admired the clouds dancing over the surroundings.
