I usually never write, but this time I'll make an exception. Today I was at the summit, so all I can say is if you're early, no problems.
The path to Kredarica is trodden, but it certainly worsens during the day due to temperatures. No one went to the top from Monday to today, today at least 10 people, surely more. With all gear and early start, nothing to fear.
I parked with a fairly low French car by the woods, some parked further at the very last parking lot. I won't say the road is nice, because it's not - but it's doable.

Well said, especially not smart to start hiking in the evenings, as it's maximum thaw. When the best temperature is, is well known. For current temperatures and snow, good foot conditions for winter ascents are mostly over, I saw it myself today in KSA.

Dejan, wait until the end of April.
Three years ago at the end of April there were still excellent winter conditions there (on Krnička gora better than mid-winter). At home everything froze.nasmeh

Winter ascents ended anyway a good week ago.

As for the last few weekends, conditions Krma-Kredarica excellent for hiking. No word of that sinking up to 40cm, if walking on the trail, it wouldn't be. Maybe you missed it in the dark? For Wednesday they forecast up to 60cm new on Kredarica.. we'll see velik nasmeh

My friend was nagging me a couple weekends ago to go to Triglav but things didn't line up. Yesterday it finally worked out and we had a really good time.
In the morning we had good conditions for hiking. Start -2°C and clear sky full of stars. Below Prgarca the sun lit up the surrounding peaks. Above it, the bushes livened up our path with wedding squabbles. The bootpack held our weight nicely all the way to Kredarica, where we warmed up in the sunshine for a long time.
The continuation to the summit was pure enjoyment, especially for both companions for whom it was the first time in snow. We had excellent conditions for the ascent. Even though the sun was blazing full throttle, the bootpack stayed firm. Along with several others we enjoyed the summit with a wonderful view all around. Visibility was phenomenal. In the morning you could see to the sea.
On descent we had to be much more focused, as the heat was already affecting some spots. Still, we descended without issues.
At Kredarica we met familiar faces, reason for a long stop. Meanwhile the sun did its work and the return to the valley was quite fun tiring (post-holing). Descent without post-holing was possible only in the morning.
Nice memories will remain from this gathering on the tour to our Father.
Best regards and safe steps to all from under beautiful Golte, Janeznasmeh

Hey!

This last weekend conditions were great in Triglav! It was warm and sunny (downjacket felt rather unnecessary) and it was not windy at all. Snow was perfect for both walking (no snowshoes needed) and ski touring.

We started walking on Saturday morning in Mojstrana, and after a long fight we made all our way up to Kredarica. Snow was OK till there. Crampons felt unnecessary. It took us about 8 hours from Mojstrana or about 6 from Krma.

On Sunday we left the hut early in the morning (or still night?) and we could see the sunrise from the summit (well, actually from 30 meters below). We left the hut at around 5.40 and the snow was just perfect in the way up. It was hardsnow and it felt super safe all the way up. On the way down the snow was also good but it was a bit softer. Once again, no wind and warm temperatures.

What a weekend!!

PS(1): Hvala lepa to the guy that drove us back from Krma to Mojstrana and to the guy that drove us a couple of kilometers to Krma. You made our days!
PS(2): For skiers. I'd say it was possible to ski after 1 hour (+/-) of hike from Krma.
PS(3): Sorry for writing in english, but we're foreign students studying in Ljubljana and we know little slovene!

On Wednesday morning there was only one car in Krma despite the nice weather.
Ice on the path starts above the forest, snow suitable for skiing from Vrtača. In the valley it was frozen, above Prgarca already the snow from the last snowfall, which had softened a bit in the sun and allowed easy ski walking all the way to Kredarica.
Since I had planned an ascent to Triglav, I knew I would miss the good conditions for skiing, so I decided to overnight and go down to the valley the next morning.
Conditions for Triglav were good, only on the descent I was a bit late and the snow had become mushy in places.

Since there was plenty of time afterwards, I skied across the former glacier to the edge of the wall, climbed back up and further towards Staničeva koča. With the last sun rays I crossed below Rž back to Kredarica.

Early morning rise and waiting for the sunrise on top of Triglav. Due to the frozen snow, conditions were especially optimal on the descent.

After the morning coffee, ski down to the valley. From Snežna konta I crossed high towards the valley leading to Planika and along it directly to Kurica. Conditions excellent, as the snow had just started to soften. It was like that all the way to Pleše, where I finished skiing. I could have gone a bit lower but the avalanche debris was quite broken. nasmeh

On foot from Krma to Kredarica, in the morning the snow holds, later it's a different story.eek

Started around 2.15 in Krma. All the way frozen hard, not soft. At Kredarica hut, put on crampons and headed to Triglav summit to watch sunrise. Arrived at the summit a few minutes before 6, conditions ideal, steps, frozen, no slush anyway. Descent early, because strong sun quickly softened snow.

The recent holidays were weather-wise unrepeatable and it would be a real sin to spend them indoors. Yesterday, an hour earlier than usual, I head to Kredarica, also thinking of dad if the snow won't soften too much. Soon I realize there's no such fear and after eating a capital Easter sandwich I'm already putting on crampons for the summit ascent. Conditions were really super, both snow and temperature wise. I arm myself with sunglasses, Arafat, ice axe and half-empty rucksack. On the ascent I meet less than ten people, which even in summer rainy weather doesn't happen. Footprints are super, some pitons and fixed ropes even out. On the top no wind or cold, excellent visibility, and Nataša just climbed up right in front of me. So I felt no homesickness, fingers didn't freeze, so I snapped photos and photos...
Really super day spent. The toughest part of the day was descent from below Kalvarija to Prgarca, where we 'hole diggers' had quite some work.
Dani then, after handing over duties to the youth, already sweetened my cappuccinovelik nasmeh.
