Some say ok weather until afternoon. Don't forget crampons, icy rocks due to low temps and yesterday's mini snowfall
Good luck

"magroman", just for info, if you don't see it up there from afar by chance. I was today on Lj. - Bohinj route, and there was quite a bit of white on Julians somewhere above approx 2300m, Stol was just wet, same for Kočna and Grintovec.

Hello, does anyone know what conditions are like from Kredarica to the top? Thanks!

The meteorologist at the weather station on Kredarica will tell you everything.

Hi,

tomorrow I'll write the blog and publish it. Otherwise quickly... Practically no snow to Kredarica, one crossing was icy... The rest windblown snow... I used microspikes myself, most went without. Good luck!

Thanks Cason! Great pics, illustrative description. In the next days it will probably be quite different due to forecasted temperatures. We'll go check end of week.
Good luck!

Does anyone have current info for the path via Plemenice? Is any winter gear needed?

Thanks, regards

Not for microspikes, don't worry, they are equally or less useful in mountains as bikini swimsuits

I wouldn't say that, with them I've safely and successfully hiked many routes. If you use the thing properly, in the right place and at the right time, it can help a lot. The fact is, it can't replace complete winter gear.

There's only one fact: it can't replace crampons. What you walked alone with those microspikes, better not boast about it. More than obvious here no one has a course or is somehow trained or has done training on AO, otherwise you wouldn't be spouting stupidities here. Barefoot, can't do better.

The fact is that microspikes are part of mountaineering gear, whether someone likes them or not. If you know current conditions via Plemenice that's what it's about and not microspikes.

It would be barefoot without crampons.

I don't understand why there's so much talk about gear here.
Whoever has experience already knows what is needed or what HE/SHE thinks is needed. Each their own.
Whoever has no experience would do best not to go to high mountains in winter, except with an experienced one.
And for Branee: despite AO training and lots of experience I dare claim small crampons are useful mežikanje

Well bravo, that it rattled on Triglav you don't have, what to wear "mountaineering gear", what you have on your feet when going to Velika Planina or Šmarko, nobody cares here, don't drag some excuses here. I know the conditions alright, no intention to share cuz already that master above @freak wrote he needed crampons for Triglav, that's where the debate comes from. By adding your "experience" you fell into that same group.

Samok, who and when and where do I see they taught you crampons are useful for Triglav via Plemenice

Samok, (and others!) this is the only sensible thing in all this polemic! Safe then with such or other gear! Regards

Yeah, because of such, then we go middle of night from Poštele, cuz it's safe with such or other gear
