Conquered Triglav (09.10.21)

Surprisingly there weren't many cars on Saturday morning yet. Snow started from Prgarca onwards. On Friday someone had already pulled the track and on the summer trail you could walk right beside it, as the frozen snow already held you up. There wasn't much wind on Kredarica. Winter gear was necessary for the ascent to the tower. The path was nicely decorated with ice crystals. The tower in nice garb, as is typically the case usually for November. On descent there was already a crowd towards the summit. The tour ends as usual in Alj.hram.

Congratulations for courage and exceptional pics! High mountains for summer hiking seem already closing at least....
Fully winter tour already in October....!? How many months was Kredarica snow-free this year... if end of May there was 5m... Maybe good news for Triglav glacier!

Petkov's path to Triglav started at night from Krma. A little breeze accompanied us the whole way.
Snow starts higher above Prgarca and we didn't need crampons to Kredarica. At this radiator we warm up and refuel and wait for the right hour to head to the summit. Meanwhile fog rolls in and the wind picks up too.
Most cables are still out and we progress nicely. Only the "ladders" under M. Triglav are already annoying, but you can't avoid going up eek

We arrive at the summit too soon and since it doesn't look like we'll see anything we turn back soon. After 10min descent Zdenka realizes something is clearing and we quickly return. We get back just before sunrise... it was like a fairytale...
Carefully on the return, to the deserved coffee and slowly to the valley...

Does anyone plan to go to Triglav this Saturday or Sunday?
Here on hribi.net I check the weather (Saturday), it shows plenty of sun, but on other weather sites it shows still very unstable weather. zmeden

Sunday should be nicer. Thanks for info. mežikanje

Don't look at the weather here, you'll lose the will for the hill/mountains. I assume since you're asking you're inexperienced with this. Sunday is ok

Great, THANKS to both. redbull, usually I check all possible weather websites. True, here it usually shows sunny, but in reality it can be totally upside down. Temperatures aren't accurate either. But I have enough experience, no worries. Just sure is sure.... I don't go to Triglav every day mežikanje

Yesterday's trip to Triglav. Gorgeous weather. Start and finish in Krma. Up past Prgarca, over Kurica, Konjsko sedlo, Planika and to Triglav summit, down via Kredarica and back to Krma.
Snow more for show than real, so no crampons needed from Planika to Mali Triglav. Further to the summit they came in handy and I had them (almost) all the way to Kredarica. Very few people, but the views were all the more magnificent! cool

27.10.2021. Special day for me. Weather accordingly. Whole day in the sun. At half past five I started walking in Krma. Only one car parked. Hour and a half walking in the dark before dawn. You can tell days are short. Deafening silence when walking in the forest. Then a hiker catches up with me. Says it's his first time to Triglav. We go together over Kurica and Planika to the summit. Below the summit we meet another known hiker. No others. No wind on top either. Quite pleasant. Still quite some snow left. From Planika there's a gully with lots of snow and there you need winter gear. Same on descent from summit. Because snow is icy in places and caution needed. Otherwise yesterday's autumn day was gorgeous. Descent same path to Krma still in daylight.

Darinka, you really are tireless. You describe and photograph excellently especially peaks in Posočje. These mountains are somehow forgotten since Igor Zlodej's death. Thanks again! nasmeh
