@gorvhribe, don't forget to extend it, it lasts only 24h.

How is it with parking your own vehicle? It's probably paid, right? Is it a machine? Asking because I haven't been to Pokljuka for the last 5 years. Thanks for info.

There is free parking of Slovenian army. Next to it paid parking (5€ for whole day).

So no too much smart talk about parking on Pokljuka again. On the map it's clear it's allowed only on the paid parking spot.
Of course it only applies to Bohinj municipality territory.
Pokljuka parking lot is unregulated too, like all parking lots under Bohinj municipality jurisdiction.
Important is only collecting fees and issuing fines. Inspectors come to Pokljuka only after fleecing all who overnighted on their territory in nature regardless if in camper, tent or sleeping bag.

Does this map mean that you can't park anymore at the starting point below planina Konjščica??

As clearly shown, parking is also prohibited there.
Allowed only at Rudno polje, at the official paid parking lot.
On Wednesday at the "parking lot below planina Konjščica" there was still no sign prohibiting parking. At all other places there were already barriers, signs with that content and traffic signs for prohibitions.

In my opinion, the municipality can't prohibit parking at the parking lot owned by the army (which is clearly marked and says parking at own risk). Only the army can do that. Have they now closed those parking lots with a barrier?

The sign prohibiting traffic towards Uskovnica and Konjščica has been there for at least a month, at that time the caretaker at Konjščica told me that the regime at the parking lot "end of the road on Pokljuka" is not yet enforced. I haven't been there since.

"Julius", prohibited is parking NEXT TO forest roads, that P is a sign for paid parking lot, which doesn't mean it's the exclusive option. "Enka", with the barrier they closed access to the lower lift of the Rudno polje ski area, sometimes you could park there next to abandoned buildings and the forest road to Zajamniki.

"Bongo", it clearly says where parking is allowed. You can only park there and period, elsewhere they can "fine" you.
I think additional lecturing is not needed.

With one delivery van. No, on private parking lots even Bohinj wardens have no authority. Ergo, parking in front of the barracks is allowed, unless prohibited by the army.

I've parked there on this free parking lot many times, so it's definitely not prohibited, the sign just says park at own risk, which is no different than at the paid one.

julius, despite two P's that doesn't mean it's allowed exclusively or only there. Your "and period" already negates the parking across from the barracks and that one at the end of the forest road to Konjščica too, of course park as you like - there'll be more space. wink

A month ago parking was 6 euros. The parking meter doesn't give change.

Hi. Can you still park in Krma, further ahead from Kovinarska koča? Last year I still got to the sign or end of the road. Even if paid, doesn't bother me. Thanks for info.

You can drive another 2-3 km by car, to the end of the road. Last week on Wednesday and Thursday there was enough space, but on weekends, I don't know..

Monday, 1.8.2022

Every year I set myself 2-3 longer hikes. One of them usually goes over Triglav. This year it went like this:

I parked in Krma and headed towards Rjavina in the dark. Below pl. Zgornja Krma I was looking a bit for that distinct hunter's path. Well, the trick is not to look for it, but simply spot it and go along it. The path goes past the old shepherd's hut, higher up it rejoins the marked path. When the marked path turns sharply towards Dovška vrata again, I went straight through Kravja dolina - maybe even a bit too far. But turning towards the bomber there is always a lottery. It doesn't go right through the grass, somewhere you'd surely hit denser terrain. That's how I got to the plane wreckage, took a few pics, put on my helmet and climbed up the scree towards Temen.

This year the path isn't really well-trodden, snow has also knocked down all the cairns. I set one up so those who know where to look for the crossing can find it easier; still, quite a bit of caution is needed, erosion has done its thing, so part of the crossing goes a meter higher and if you slip on the scree...
I successfully crossed, then straight up. I zigzagged somehow so that not everything collapsed under my feet on the scree and soon reached the top of Rjavina. There were two guys up there who came via the climbing route, we took some pics, then off to new adventures.

I descended via Mala Rjavina, skipped Stanicev dom and crossed straight to the path that goes past Rž towards Kredarica. There I made a short stop, stowed the poles and then towards the top. On the way you see all sorts of things, I wish them all good luck; no need for words. Soon I reached the top, met some familiar faces up there, quickly greeted, asked for a couple of tips and quickly descended to Dolica. There the crisis started, legs wouldn't go anywhere, the sun started shining so it wasn't the nicest to Kanjavec summit. I also quickly forgot about Poprovec. But it worked. I rested a bit, then descended between the two Kanjavec summits towards Prehodavci. I also spotted the ridge m/v Špičje, but I already said for the second time... next time.

At Prehodavci I took a short break, ate a good Ričet, then quickly went past the half-empty lakes over Komarča to Hotel Zlatorog where they sell the best cold beer in the world. At least that's how it seemed to me at that moment.

Hi Lukito!
Thanks for the description and photos. Congrats on the tour. I'm curious if there's really no stamp and logbook at Rjavina. That's what I heard from a hiker yesterday at Staniceva hut.

Hi

The stamp is on picture No. 5 smile

Maybe there's no ink pad because the two guys on top asked if they could stamp with mine. Don't know about the book as I didn't open the box.

Today to Triglav with a buddy after more than ten, if not fifteen years. Gorgrede from Kredarica, down to Planika. Quite a few of us decided today to wait for sunrise on the top. Conditions were varied as both rock and fixed ropes were completely wet from moisture. Otherwise conditions ok. But it seems to me there's at least twice as much iron on the path from Kredarica as say 20 years ago. They must have counted steps too as at moments it feels like walking up a skyscraper staircase.
Probably all this contributed to now everything that crawls and goes hiking Triglav. Anyway, my buddy and I were shocked by the happenings on top. Negatively. Right at the start we spot two or three sleeping bags and mats right on top of Triglav.
Nowadays it's trendy to sleep anywhere without a shred of respect for the environment. Then these folks cook something on a gas stove. When done, of course they rinse the pots nicely and splash it all down the slope. Then a girl, who I hope recognizes herself and thinks about it, behaved as if she was alone on top. Loud talking (shouting) how she needs to be photographed, even chased away a poor guy who was changing as he was in her frame, etc. With her boyfriend/buddy they practically occupied the summit pillar. When a few others gathered, then screaming etc. followed, all during sunrise when everyone could enjoy peace for a moment. Anyway, conditions like at the most rundown cattle party, without any respect for the peak, nature, not to mention TNP, nothing. Now I know that even if I never climb up again, I'll miss nothing.

True exwannabe, Triglav has become a circus and a mountain long not worth its name.

In the current issue of Planinski vestnik there's an interesting article on how Triglav was deliberately degraded and blasted with dynamite so masses could flock to it. Alongside is a description of the pristine state experienced by climbers before 1895 and archive photos.
