Together to the mountains

You think I want to drag city people with me at all, NO, I prefer to go alone....and yes I provoke you.
Writing on the forum is one thing, doing the deed is another and one can't believe that you take my guiding seriously.
You others started putting this forum in a bad light, I ask about conditions on Krn and then there are characters who start commenting on spelling mistakes.tongue

mate07, listen. I sent you two PMs already, but you didn't reply to even one. I suggested a getting-to-know tour, nothing. Given that you wrote you want to go with someone where you haven't been yet, I expected at least that you'd reply to the PM. Don't provoke people on the forum, because not everyone is patient (read: you didn't herd cows together) like some of us. Don't mention leading in the mountains if you don't mean it seriously. Otherwise Gorazd has already written nicely to you... In your place I'd calm down a bit, maybe you're just bored, maybe the heat is really too much and it's starting to mix us all up slowly. Otherwise on this forum topic: last year I met two great friends via hribi.net with whom we go together whenever possible. We've done quite a few winter ascents and climbed quite a few icefalls, so there are people you meet and then go to the mountains together..., not pour false hope into people.

.5. (five) pages of writing, negotiating, agreeing, scolding, warning, complaining, smart-assing, and so on and so on.
Thanks to deities of all religions, when I started with mountaineering around 1975, there was no internet or other electronic crap. At the beginning it was like this too: uncle, which is that mountain? Or from some uncle to me: snotnose, how do you walk? Don't kick stones and don't yell like a goat !!! And so I tested all the downsides of going to the mountains on my own skin. And not just once. Thanks I don't know to whom that everything turned out well, because I learned the most and took away from my own stupidities.
Today a guy turns on TV or PC, sees a nice mountain and some fit babe climbing via ferrata to it and thinks: me too! And starts posting questions on forums because of which some who have been in mountains more than once, mildly put, their head hurts. And you try to help, advise, from own experiences, offer first-hand info . . . . and in the end realize someone had too much imagination and too much time again. No big deal, while typing this I have 23 degrees in the room and it doesn't bother me at all mežikanje. I think the best answer to next questions how this or that path looks is: GO AND SEE jezen

Me too looking for some companion for next year. This year as BEGINNER I did 8000 meters ascent, walked 40 km one way, more or less same path up and down. Reached 10 goals.
Next year definitely going on demanding paths, but wouldn't want to go alone.
I go to AC in Ljubljana-Podutik

If anyone wants to go to Triglav can write me on ZS, now I know the path, gear good boots and enough fitness. Poles desired.
FREE, not like PD Matica that asks 40 euros or whatever for guiding.
I suggest and will demand that on hribi.net they make such a corner to only organize hikes to mountains, say Kanjavec on this and that day, start there, can also drive together from LJ....
Otherwise I go to mountains almost every Sunday if nice weather, avoid days with bad forecast.

Clear Mate, you're welcome on the forum (in my opinion) anyway, but please don't overestimate your abilities, as it can backfire badly in the mountains you're so enthusiastic about (which is fine).
God forbid!
Good luck!

@turbo

You wanna boast now that you've been mountaineer for 35 years, think a bit, I've been 2 years.
You wanna be smart because you've been in this business so long, you don't like some "kid" schooling you, saying shut up you know nothing, I've been 35 years in this and know a lot about mountaineering.
Sorry smart aleck I really don't intend to listen how you'd write 100 sentences what all you need for Triglav, meanwhile Croats happily go up just with "good" boots and no other gear. And so we don't argue again, it's like that on every mountain with these foreigners.
Helmet comes next week for demanding tours.

I don't know why we should bother with arrogant preemies (like mate07) who reached Triglav for the first time a couple of days ago and think they've drunk and eaten all the glory and science of this world. If he doesn't get that a stone can hit his head either by an animal or another mountaineer, he'll get it when the first one flies into his head or whizzes past it. When he gets it, he'll wear a helmet even on a walk in Tivoli... some are really preemies... no hard feelings...

Mate07 I've been going to the mountains for a while but I'm not ready for Triglav yet. Hats off to you if you're ready for it in two years! I know for me it was enough to overcome from 300m above sea level to 500m above sea level a slightly steeper wall, possibly even bushy! There at 15 years old I wondered whether to go forward or back! When I looked into the depth behind me I almost fainted because I was at the end of my strength. But I knew there was no way back so I went forward but with shat pants and told myself never again to provoke such a situation. I tell you I'm scared to go to Triglav just because of that situation. So I'm satisfied with the mid-mountains already.

"Sorry smartass I really don't intend to listen how you'd write 100 sentences what all you need for Triglav while Croats happily go up there just with "good" gojzars and without other gear."

JAO. Mate07, personally I don't care where and how you hike and with what gear. You're just convinced that in two years you've mastered all the wisdom of this world; there have been many like that, for many of them it "didn't hold up" if I can put it that way. This winter was a good example - 7 dead. As long as it's just about you, all good (and let's leave GRS aside now). But you could show a bit more responsibility when advising others. What will happen if someone follows your advice and heads say to Škrlatica and right below the summit a weather change hits - rain and cooling to 5°C, all he has with him is 2 liters of water? As I said, I don't care at all what you do with yourself, but don't put others in danger with your "advice".

In your place, I wouldn't dig a pit for another.
I never do that, digging a pit for another, because then you yourself fall into it.

I don't go on winter tours because of the gear and disinterest in such tours.

*****************
Mate07, if you go to the beginning, you'll see that I didn't ask anyone anything. If you go from start to end, you'll see that I didn't write "must" anywhere. Instead, I only advise or suggest. And nowhere, really nowhere, did I write what tours I do and have done. So there was no boasting. Those 35 years I mentioned mainly so that it's known I don't write off the cuff, but because I have some mileage. And with that some experience. If I boast a bit now, yes, I've done quite a few nice things in the mountains. Mostly demanding pathless terrain, some easier routes up to IV. degree, and also a quite demanding ice fall is behind me. And if I read somewhere that someone is interested in something and I know that thing (path, gear, etc.), I write what I know about it. First hand. As information and not as instructions on how and what needs to be done.
And even today, after all these 35 years, on every tour I definitely have quite a few pieces of gear in my backpack, which I could easily leave in the valley. But I don't, because if it comes in handy just 1x, all that carrying is fully justified.

Out of context:
kid on the street says to me: sir, what time is it? I look at my watch and say: half past ten. Kid to me: what's up old man, why so important if you have a watch, is that something special to have a watch?!
I just answered him zmeden

Leave the green kid alone, let him happily solo on the forum and don't reply to him at all. He's used to being alone as a completely asocial type anyway, both in the mountains and in the forest counting boletes.
I hope there'll be some rain soon so they sprout...
