Bojan also wrote a lot, of course he's right, for them it's about money, not caring for nature.

Of course municipal bigwigs will defend their right, since biggest revenues of municipalities in Kranjska Gora and Bohinj are from collected parking fees. Maybe PZS should bill municipalities for trail maintenance and marking. Why should markers maintain trails for free if only foreigners will use them!jezen:

So, even tourists staying in Vrata will be able to go to Vrata for free. I think in this dear Slovenia everyone has gone mad already.

Yes, obviously for those tourists, unlike us, there is a "legal basis" that they have it for free

This is already our tradition, that you are almost god and whip, just because you come as our dear guest from abroad. Cankar already wrote something about this and about servants! nasmeh

High parking fees are already deterring many hikers, consequently some well-known huts have the worst attendance this year in recent years, verified.

Signatures are being collected to show that we won't quietly watch the current trend of restricting mountains:

As long as you go there and pay the high parking fee, you're still "watching quietly". nasmeh

Given the changes they plan to introduce, it will be worth sleeping over at Aljaž in Vrata the night before the hike. That way you'll be accommodated as a tourist in Vrata, as such you'll have free (free entry) to the valley, so you won't need to pay parking. Sleeping in dorms, as a member of PZS or foreign alpine organization, was this summer, high season, cheaper than daily parking, room with a few beds something like that zavijanje z očmi

Bojan, your idea of sleeping in the hut reminds me of those store promotions where you get the second item free or discounted when buying two, and then you buy two even though you don't need the second one.

Of course, Drago, you already know since you shop like that. Such a thing doesn't even cross my mind velik nasmeh

How not, if you'd sleep in the hut just so you don't have to pay the parking fee?nasmeh

Not quite, as for a price lower (!) than 24h parking you'd get sleep+parking.

The hut doesn't offer many such overnight stays, oops, parking lots. nasmeh

By spring, the works on the Vršič road end and it should be normally passable, except when weather, avalanches etc. decide otherwise.

A few days ago I browsed YouTube and hit this folk one:
"Po koroškem po kranjskem že ajda zori, že ajda zori, že ajda zori..."
And mumbled it to myself, no ear for music anyway, like this:
"Po Gorenjskem, po Kranjskem že rampa stoji, že rampa stoji, že rampa stoji..."

Weekend in Dolomites. 2 hikes, one not even short. Mostly no parking fees there. Sleep in car at Passo Giau. Yes, unlike our land, that's not "crime against humanity" there. Huts mostly closed, so food and drink from backpack. Only cost then (besides "fixed" - food and drink) 650 km driven, less than 50€ fuel.

Point of post? If on nice autumn weekend go for longer tour to Fužina hills (beautiful in autumn too) sleeping say at Prehodavci bivouac, bill: 20€ fuel + 40€ parking. So...for Slovene (similar calc from anywhere in Slovenia with low-consumption car) mountains around Bohinj costlier than around world-famous Cortina. And Blato not even champs in parking fee height. Dunno...makes me think deep how high...well low we've sunk. jezen
