What's the actual situation now? They've officially closed the road but can you still drive to the end of the valley (is the barrier open?). If they've physically closed access to Vrata then I really don't understand why they boast that from Nov 15th onwards there's no parking fee in Vrata

Obviously you can't drive past the barrier. They're not boasting, they stated the actual situation. When the suckers run out, you can charge half a euro for a mug too. That's how it is gypsy-style, pardon, Kranjska Gora-style.

In principle you could get to Vrata valley even by bike, as in the old days.
Kranjska Gora folks probably saved a bit on barrier length for that reason, so bypass around them is no obstacle.
Problem is the bike path from Hrušica to Rateče now has winter closure.

My question to KG municipality:
Regarding Kranjska Gora municipality post ( https://obcina.kranjska-gora.si/objava/1015314 ) that winter conditions on Mojstrana-Vrata road from 15.11.2024, please explain what specific conditions on 15.11.2024 dictate declaring winter conditions? Snow? Ice? Avalanche risk? Why not on Vršič road?

based on message from state road manager, Kranjska Gora Municipality just forwarded road closure notice. As it's state road, manager decides on necessity and reasons.
