I'm also interested if anyone recently crossed from Štapc to Prehodavci (plus Mala Tičarica, under Velika Tičarica, Kopica, to Mala Zelnarica, past Velika Z. to Vrat and further to Prehodavci). What about the path difficulty and if it's well marked. Thanks for answers

We walked it last year and the path is well marked, only to Zelnarica is scree-step up two down. Otherwise wonderful tour, we'll repeat it, hope this weekend. We did it one day and via valley 7j dol.

Mukica, thanks for quick reply. Please also rough time overview if you remember. How much walking from Štapc to Prehodavci - at least approx, since we'll be more, can drag. Path itself nowhere exposed? To other peaks like Mala Tičarica (optional) and Mala Zelnarica marked path doesn't go, I think?

Check the trip pl.Blato-Velika Zelnarica (over Štapce), has all described. Very nice trip also for groups, at moments careful a bit exposed here and there (one spot particularly annoying).

Thanks for answers. Confused me a bit in path description (from Blato to Zelnarica 5.5 hrs, plus to Prehodavci good hour), at hut at Triglav Lakes they said whole ridge from there to Prehodavci max three hours.

For visiting ALL Triglav Lakes the best is a two-day route starting at Hut at Savica, over Komarča past Black Lake, then to Double Lake and to Prehodavci (in between Ledvica, Green Lake, Blatno Lake and First (under vršaci) lake. Next day back to Hut at Triglav Lakes (same way or over Špičje), then to Komna and valley to Hut at Savica. Each day moderate walking cca up to 7-10 hrs, here also GPS track to Prehodavci Komarča-Prehodavci Regarding dog, my opinion they don't belong on mountain hikes, especially not high mountains. No hard feelings.

On 29. and 30.8.2008 I did a two-day circular route, I think one of the most beautiful in our mountains and probably far around. From planina Blato, to planina pri jezeru, past Dedno polje to Ovčarija, over prode to hut at seven lakes. From there past Ledvička towards Prehodavci. On this part saw lots of marmots and chamois, not to mention the view at Prehodavci hut. To Prehodavci hut is moderate walking with stops for just over 6 hours. Next day headed over Hrobarice to Dolič hut and then down to Vodnik hut at Veliko polje. Then up to Jezerski preval and down to abandoned planina Jezerca and further to planina Krstenica, where bought some very good cheese from friendly shepherdess. But have to warn about poorly marked trail from Veliko polje to Krstenica, which is otherwise well trodden and visible. Map obligatory. From Krstenica short descent on hunter's well visible trail to planina Blato. Walking with stops is 11 hours. Happy hiking!

Today my wife and I visited Triglav Lakes from Fužina pastures (Blato, Jezero, Dedno polje, Ovčarija) to the hut, then further down the valley to Prehodavci and back the same way. Weather was "interesting" - from snow showers to sun. Little snow and doesn't hinder walking. Huts are closed. Recommend - very nice autumn tour. Some photos at www.petersfoto.si

Maybe someone knows what the conditions are like, or what the path is like. Thanks

Hi. 25.-27.6.2009 I plan to go to valley of seven lakes, from planina Blato, over Štapce or Prode. Can I expect still lots of snow and where? When does Hut at Triglav Lakes usually open? Is reservation needed? THANKS.

Stayed overnight at this hut, and besides accommodation they charged me "ecological tax" 1.50 euros. Until now I haven't paid it anywhere, so I'm wondering what it is. And one more thing..huts around Triglav are SHAMELESSLY expensive-food, drinks..no wonder some have everything in backpacks.

Also at Kredarica ecological contribution is paid on overnight stay. Regarding prices it's an individual's choice what to buy at hut or carry everything in backpack. Half liter beer at certain hut costs 3 euros, half liter water 2 euros. What is worth more?

They know they are in "prime" location, so shamelessly charge. But ecological tax is really ridiculous at time when in magazines and forums it's proven how in hut, around and in lake natural purity is taken care of. Latest shots even show how they pumped the septic tank into bushes 50m from hut and only 100m from Double lake. Maybe the tax went for that pumping

Really very nice, Tadej and Rok! Judging by the tracks, you also had company of mountain hares.

Yesterday I repeated the tour described above - fog accompanied me all the time, I caught only a couple of sun rays. The path is otherwise really passable only with snowshoes, but it's quite nice. Met a herd of 8 fat chamois, who played goodbye to me by releasing snow above me.
