All the way to Mickina bajta dry, warm sun caressed me nicely. Higher up the foliage rolled in, on the plateau cold and windy. In Jarški dom only guest, in gondola alone, also in bus only passenger zmeden

Yesterday I didn't feel like going to Gradišče, it was cold and windy, so I turned around at Pirčev vrh. I met only two guys, weather far from ideal conditions. Surface frozen, soles gripped well. Some snow only above Mickina bajta.

Just above the little church of St. Peter.

Peter arrives only at the end of the week.

The nativity scene is still holding out.

Snow only for sledding in the main channel below Zeleni rob. Otherwise yesterday morning it crunched nicely underfoot above Primož, ground frozen. The moment I arrive at Črnuški dom for tea, the sun appears too, warming my back nicely to Gradišče. Path, hut, pasture dead quiet, surprisingly no crows.

Clearly visible path to Konj and branch to Rzenik.

Complete silence, the machines have finally left the highland.

Yesterday from Stahovice past St. Primož to Gradišče. Pasture nicely whitened. Most turn back at St. Primož, but further quite some visits too. Path trodden. Snow powdery, often sinking in. On pasture shining well, views fantastic of course. At car just before night. nasmeh

This morning I was afraid there wouldn't be any sun up there, but luckily I was wrong. Left the tin horse as always before Calcitu, road to Primož partially dry, otherwise thickly sprinkled with gravel. Crampons stayed in the backpack later too, since almost no smooth ice anywhere. Didn't need jacket or hat either, as it was much warmer up there than at the start. No traffic from my side, cable car packed full of vacationers. Caught the bus by the tail, as the cable car guy was late with the ride again.

Vrh Korena, Kompotela, Jermanov turn and Mokrica, and Kalški greben.

Domžalec. Still some mist in the valley.

Left Lastovec and Deska, right Veliki vrh.

...as is the largest pastoral settlement in our country.

Rogatec - after many years back on the wishlist.

More snow in the valley than on the Planina.

After a day of rest running up again. Road to Primož already completely dry, slightly obstructing frozen snow starts a bit below Mickina hut. Dry rocks stick out of the snow often enough to progress nicely uphill. Good sole profile and poles, and ear strap on the summit plateau are basic gear for now. Snow is disappearing fast. Either blown away or melts. Today I was at the station half a minute before the bus nasmeh

In a second they almost all got away from me.

At times it was carrying it at 100 per hour...

I haven't met anyone up here for a long time.

At least the Trnič track could be activated for groups of children.

Yesterday even better conditions up there. To Primož frozen, higher up inversion felt, warm, no slightest breeze, path to Mickina hut completely dry. Over Pirčev vrh thin ice, over Pasje pečine worse, path closed since August flood anyway and approach strongly advise against. On Planina more dryness than whiteness, went to Jarška to greet Lidija. Had an hour for phone calls too, as cable car due to power outage started at 13 instead of 12. Bus long gone of course, nice mountaineer who was returning from Kamniško sedlo picked me up. Thanks, young man!

Only between the Rinkami it is nicely covered

No snow, ice or mud from Stahoviška direction anywhere anymore, hut openings don't change regarding spring conditions, haven't seen any skier on Vel'ka this winter.

On the bench in shelter in front of the bajta as in summer.

The mountains are quite nicely whitened.

Krvavec, Zvoh, Košutna, part of Vrh Korena, Kompotela and Kalški greben.

Western (slightly cut off) 2344 and eastern 2335 Vilice, Lučka Brana and Škarje. Below them Vežica and Vršiči, in front Rzenik and Konj.

Towards the east. Golte, Rogatec and Lepenatka

Today to Velika planina a bit differently.
From Kranjski rak along forest path, then road to planina Dol. At Ušivec parking quite a few cars. From planina Dol over planina Konjščica to Koritni vrh and on to Gradišče. Then past Domžalski dom and stop at Črnuški dom. Return over Gojška planina, then through forest to start. Short rain shower caught us at planina Konjščica. Few people, sun breaking through clouds, path without specials. nasmeh
