Yesterday's midnight mass was attended by at least 500 people in my opinion. Wind was quite strong at times, and fog on the top too.
But I can't ignore that some idiot (or more of them) broke all winter markers on the path from Jarški dom towards Gojška planina. I'm really wondering who goes to the mountains!?

garmont, there were quite a few, as they kept coming and going. Yeah, that with markers really pissed me off too, since in fog which is very common up there it's extremely necessary. Wondering if anyone saw them and reported? I'd take them up in the thickest fog and wind at -30°C to put them back, see if they ever think of something like that again. Anyway, Velika planina or Christmas Eve is becoming more and more up there a holiday of drunks and idiots (also fireworks and rockets thrown among people at midnight mass). Question if I'll go next year? Shame, it can be so nice if people are up for it!

What happens in recent years is no longer a peaceful Christmas Eve - midnight mass but a drunken party... so we rather stay home with family and happily go to midnight mass in our home church, it's also a nice experience..
this year completely without fireworks

Maybe someone knows how is the road from Krivčevo via Rak and further to Velika planina path? Is it plowed?
How much snow up on the plateau?

If someone was on Velika planina via Mala planina, I'd ask for info up to where it's possible to drive by car and how much snow there is.

On Monday I was up, it was super with skis, on summits windblown snow, no need to take them, where ratrak went, you'll surely ski.

We started from Krajnski rak, parked at the quarry, it went ok with good winter tires.

moon, all paths are passable, it depends more on what kind of paths you're used to. All are quite well trodden. For the "classic" one from Stahovica over Pasje peči you have to decide yourself, if not sure go over Pirčev hrib. If you want higher by car park at Kranjski rak or a bit further at the quarry and have several variants well marked with signs. Not much snow, so no problems. Nice and safe steps!
