Please, can someone tell me about a camp nearby that's open at this time. Too much driving to do it the same day.

Well, on Sunday I was also jumping and snapping pics a few meters from rezist on the Planina Hehehe too bad we don't know each other, we could've chatted about this and that. And we have a similar taste for beer too Redbull ran past Gradišče too, but was too fast to talk to him... cheers

Snow surprised this morning at fairly low altitude. Already before Črnivec there was some by the road. How Velika Planina looked this morning is shown by the following photos.

When I met Primoza's family they all greeted friendly and talked about conditions on the top where I was going and they were returning.

What I'll say doesn't apply to @primoza's family, but I notice that kids in the mountains really don't know how to greet anymore. When we were kids we respected elders and greeted first always. Younger the older, man the woman. I kept that, so still usually greet first even kids who can't. Who doesn't respond deserves an ear twist.

primoza--- so you doubt my hearing and my words??? According to you a person is a weirdo if they share their observation, which apparently you can't accept. That says a lot about a person full of self-praise. As for my data, I'll gladly send them to you via private email. Regards.

This debate has gone a bit off track. I don't go to the mountains to watch every corner for who to greet but to connect with nature which up there is really something special. Of course it's normal that if you meet someone you greet them or chat. But it can easily happen that sometimes you miss someone because you simply don't see or hear them.... you're just in nature.

With these greetings and responses it's quite two-faced. Usually in lowland hills every second one responds but when you cross the 1000m line mountaineer-style greeting suddenly becomes the norm. I too when going e.g. to Šmarna gora first look and assess the person ahead. If someone just stares blankly glumly at the ground I don't greet them and thus preserve my own harmony without wasting it. But I turn to someone who looks cheerful from afar and sometimes chat like today with the runner from Goričane on Jakob.

@viharnik, similar on Pohorje too. Greeting diminishes with altitude and number of hikers. And that's right! Otherwise we could have a recorded greeting for the crowd of hikers we meet on our "home" hills. Anyway I don't know why "make a big fuss" if someone didn't respond. Nothing world-ending about it. Just wasn't in the mood or missed the greeting. Also because of such remarks and grudges sometimes better to head off-trail where you have peace.
